And people here complain about Ohba platonic and perfect romances.
Yeah because Ohba can't write female characters.

edit: can't speak for HxH or Kenshin~

I love Saint Seiya, I hate that it never got popular in English speaking countries. While I will admit, it didn't age as well as most series, it's still stylish in it's own unique way. Whether it's the double page spreads for signature attacks, the attention to detail that was put on the armor and background objects or the fact that everyone had one of their eyes on their forehead.
True. Kurumada really did a great job in this aspect and I think The Lost Canvas did a really good job as well. I actually like Lost Canvas a lot.

I thought it was a combination of both, the studio & timeslot. So Toriko & HxH aired in the morning but HxH had far less censorship because Madhouse doesn't censor as much.

Do the TV networks they air on play a role too? Lol.
The TV networks are basically the ones that play the major play about that. That and the Image the studio wants to pass to society.

Fuji TV is a public mainstream and widespread Station and so it is hard in Censorship, specially at morning and Primetime where kids and families watch the stuff.
Toei Animation is a mainstream animation studio which Identity is focusing in Kids and Families.

NTV is a private Station, though mainstream(is the most popular private station in Japan).
Madhouse is a small animation studio focused in OTAKU. Yep, they focus on people that are fans of animation, otaku. And yep they have series that are liked by Otaku and they always had, even before the 2011 NTV takeover.

Yeah because Ohba can't write female characters.
And Komugi is such an amazing female character!

When the characters are not eye-closed.

Even so, Saint Seiya art is amazing even today:

Hey, we got chapter 6 of Takeshi! done here for anyone interested on the Hi Wa Mata Noboru website.

Also, since the topic just came up, I'm trying to collect as many of the Takeshi color pages/Jump Covers as I can to include them in our releases. Like I didn't have that popularity poll color page spread that BanzaiMang posted that got quoted a couple pages ago.

Here's what I have at the moment:

In case that MEDIA embedder isn't working here's the direct link:

A lot of those are like, shitty super-low-res quality because we haven't been able to find anything better. I looked through all the old Jump Cover Archive threads on here and did lots of google searches, and found what I think is MOST of the color pages, but not all of them. I THINK we have all the Jump Covers that Takeshi was on, though some are crappy resolution. Also I'm collecting the Jump Comics volume covers, which have different artwork than the Wide-Bans. They're also out of print and hard to find. We have all of them except V21, V23 and V24 (which is the last one). If anybody has any that we're missing or any in better resolution, please send me a PM or an email at [email protected] . I know there are Jump Remix covers, too, but I think those all reuse art from other stuff.
(We're Editing from the Wide-Bans I bought years ago. For those that don't know, the end of the series is ONLY in the wide-bans and the Jump Comics volumes end when the series was cancelled the first time. The series continued in Super Jump and then got re-released in Wide-Ban form, including the end.)

I'll check that site out. I THINK I already looked there but I just did a search and already found a better version of the first cover (Jump 1997-33) and the a full-res version of the 2 color pages.

Could just be people put things up all the time and a couple months ago when I last checked those weren't there.

EDIT: I have an interesting discussion. Which are some of the Best and Worst Moments in Shonen Jump in 2016?(Including Jump SQ and Crown). I start with:
1- The manga release of The Promised Neverland
2- The Announcements of D-Gray Man and Blue Exorcist´s New Anime Seasons
3- The Ending of Bleach
4- The Ending of Assasination Classroom
5- All Might vs. All for One
