Lol at my guess for Robo. Oh well, it's still a decent rank and it's not like its in danger of being cancelled.

Glad HZ did get the cover, but it's a bit of a kick in the face to Yuragi considering even it got one.

Stone still high. It will be interesting how it goes for the next few weeks because it got particularly bad from 5-10. Guaranteed to stay for now though.

As always, happy to see Neverland and Yaiba so high.

The good thing about 6 new series round is that they will probably not have a big round next time, 1 or 2 new series at max. Even if they have material enough to make 3 series round, I don't think they will do, they have to be reasonable here... Poro and U-19 are in danger, I don't think they will give up of Hungry Marie that fast given Beelzebub history, the rest is even safer for now unless they drop even more.

The ideal I think would be no new series next cancellation round, instead having World Trigger and HxH return to replace U19 and Poro. We've just had a batch of 6 and I kind of want them to take a break from the new series bombardment for a bit to see if the non-instant cancellations are actually going to settle in properly or not.

Then 10 chapters or so later when HxH goes back on hiatus they can have maybe Marie and Zumou end to do a batch of 2 or 3 new series.

But you know that sooner or later they have to cancel a series. Are you expecting them to cancel a series in like the 6th volume? No one wants that.

That would be the one that is ranked here this week.
Honestly I don't see Dr. Stone being around to long and it's not because I personally don't like the series or because of bad rankings it has more to do with the premise getting old really quickly, that is if it ever finally resolves the current arc that I think should've really happened later on in the story and with Tsukasa having his own group of people instead of just himself but that's just my thoughts on it.
Yeah right... You were the one that said that WCS was the next "big thing"...

Go Dr. Stone!

JUMP is clearly desperate... The printed magazine numbers dropped again... They lost lots of big series and the newcomers (aside from Neverland) clearly can't fill the void space left by VETERANS.

How to fix this? We need more VETERANS. Give me Iwamoto now Shueisha.

Evidence doesnt exist to support the view that author prestige increases magazine circulation numbers. So bringing back veterans wouldnt halt the downward trend.
It's true, even so they at least can survive more weeks and get better positions on toc... Hence they can sell more... Hence its "possible" that some readers are willing to buy the printed version because of them... Hence... My comment.

Hence... Venerate Veterans. You have no other choice.

That was basically Shounen Sunday's logic. Look what happened.

The true test for Stone in the rankings is Chapter 5, the Yuzuhira one, which was worst one compared to the first 4. If it's top 5 for that chapter the series will be "venerated"

Either way, having 11 series under 2 years old is a bad thing. The loss of 5 (was it?) established series at once + one going on hiatus is a big blow when you're already dropping due to various reasons. Veteran or not, it takes like 2-3 yrs for a series to be properly established. It's highly unlikely for any new series to break 300k sales before an anime. Back 10 years ago, most of the mag was selling that like it was nothing. Now there's what, like 5 series? Not to mention the 20% success rate with new series Jump seems to have. Gonna take a looong time to fill out those vacancies

BC is generally considered a success, but its sales aren't particularly high and have hardly risen for a very long time now. Getting the anime out will cement its worth to the mag, but it's taken a long time to get to this stage. Neverland, Yuragi and Yaiba are doing pretty well, but it will still be a long time before any of them sell enough to have a large impact on the magazine and it's sales.

On the topic of Dr Stone, I'm fine with it staying if it improves. If it stays at its current level of quality, it's bland af. But hey, if it's popular that doesn't matter, it'll just annoy me. Fujimaki's the only Veteran who's done a good job out of the 4, and even then he just stuck with what worked the first time so you can't even say that. I am interested to see how HM will sell though. I can totally see it selling well despite the terrible rankings, which puts it in the opposite position of Spring Weapon...

I'd be impressed if Fujimaki actually does for golf what Inoue did for basketball in Japan. At first, I wasn't sure how he'd direct Robo's character but so far, he's doing a decent job. But I think it's kinda clear that Fujimaki is aiming for the supporting characters to shine.

You're comparing Sunday's Veterans with JUMP's? Ok... Next.

Am I the only one that is not liking Robot x Laserbeam that much? Too me is just "ok"... But nothing else.

Give this man a prize. Sunday is dying because of their bias towards veterans over rookies that's why Magi's success is such a slap in the face to that type of thinking if Jump follows that model they'll be giving up what's been keeping them in the lead for so long.

To be fair, they've tried giving newbies a shot on several occasions with huge serialization runs, and it's only the veterans that manage to last and sell anything. It's not their fault the newbies aren't selling, since strictly speaking people are more likely to buy something they're familiar with than something that's brand new. We act like we all want to head into new frontiers, but the truth is we like the safety that veterans provide, and you guys are forgetting that the name "Jump" itself already gives a whole lot of brand recognition. Making it in the magazine that the biggest manga in Japan runs in tends to do that.

That being said, they really should try to get more rookies in the mag, which as the most recent serialization round in the magazine seems to illustrate is what they're trying to do.

I feel the same, but the other 5 are worse than 'ok'. Not sure if that really means anything...

I honestly don't feel anything particularly positive towards any of the new series. RxL, WNL, and Poro are just 'okay', and I dislike the other 3.
