2018 Average TOC ranking. (issue 1-12)
One Piece 1,37
Kimetsu no Yaiba 2,75
Dr. Stone 2,83
Yakusoku no Neverland 3,14
Black Clover 4,00
Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai 5,37
Boku no Hero Academia 5,62
Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan 5,88
Haikyu!! 7,00
Hunter x Hunter 8,00
Hinomaru Zumou 8,57
Shokugeki no Soma 8,66
Gintama 9,66
Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san 10,62
Spring Weapon No.1 11,30
Robot×Laserbeam 12,11
Cross Account 13,40
Shudan! 13,75
Full Drive 14,66
Golem Hearts 15,12
This is an interesting way of including RxL in the Jump Super Push lol. I wish Yuuna would rank closer towards the middle of each week's TOC. Hopefully the anime adaptation will be successful in boosting sales. What will we complain about or use to judge the success/failure of new series if Spring Weapon really does end? lol

When they try to push Black Clover as the new Naruto instead of Naruto's own son, Boruto.
Boruto just kinda just faded after the initially push didn't it? It might just become the next GT at any moment if this persists.

Looks like they are putting some effort into pushing these series. If the average rankings are any indication. The top 5 (barring One Piece) match pretty cleanly with the "Super Push" announcement a while back. Though Robo Laserbeam is rather odd. Either the series itself wasn't that well received or the editorial department may have lost confidence in the title.

It did have a few surprisingly low rankings after all.

Plus it's already big so it doesn't need the constant promotion any more anyways, might as well save the top spots for stuff without anime yet.
Say it to One Piece. XP
This argument doesn't convince anybody, My Hero Academia has been getting low rankings, period. No excuses.
I, personally, know very well why. Even Eri destroying my heart last chapter was not enough to make me put it ahead of a lot of series. XD

I don't think anybody needs to be overly concerned with Hero Academia's future in the magazine for the time being if Haikyuu's status in the magazine can be taken as a indication.

If the total sales were directly correlated to the series position in the magazine I would assume that One Piece, Haikyuu, Hero Academia would still keep the top spots.

What are other series like Kimetsu that started badly in volume sales but managed to start growing further after volume 5?
I saw a chart @ruggia made at some point when I was looking through older posts from these forums, it had initial volume sales for a lot of manga in WSJ and what their present sales were for vol 1 I think, it was from about 7-8 months ago?

I found it.

One Piece has the the exception to the rule for over 10 years now. People still using its placement as an argument for anything are just fooling themselves at this point.

Ranking has never and I mean NEVER been a placement of quality and this has been repeated by many people for years and years to now with YonkouProd's video. This isn't an indication of anything and just makes the PUSH Campaign even more obvious. Add insult to injury is that Dr. Stone is 2# yet sells worse than the other PUSH titles even fucking Robot which is at the bottom in fact its the best selling title of the new batch from last year despite its placement, not sure what that says.

Well, I can understand putting an already popular series in intermediate positions, but I would find it silly if they did the same with the most popular series in Japan.

About the quality of the chapters, I refuse to believe that in 6 months, only MHA had weak chapters.

It is always good to be vigilant, TOC ranking is an indication of how interesting the readers find the series at that given moment, it can impact the series sales in the future, it is the first indicative that the series is not going that well and people may start to think that it is not worth buying it. We can see examples in Toriko, Bleach, Gintama. It is not a big concern right now, but if constantly decreases we can see that the series is starting to decay.

They only people who care about this sort of thing at this point are fans of the new series who want them to survive and BC fans who see it as the only outlet to justify the series existence. Jump cant afford to let go of any of its top selling titles at the moment.

Also the rankings for the recent string of chapters haven't even been bad to begin with.

The readers put One Piece there, that's why it is the most popular one. If you guys don't believe that TOC is indication of readers votes, what we are doing here? Pretending it is?

All the more ironic that the volumes covering the current arc were the highest in the series and even the latest one is doing better despite having on anime airing whereas Dr. Stone's sales have actually been decreasing despite being 2# on the TOC.

Wait for the third season to start again and see that the My Hero TOCs will get up, not that they are low now ....

For the rest, remains one of the top titles of Jump.

You do realize that its been stated several times that the Editor in Chief ultimately is the one who decides the placement right not the readers. Readers might like a specific chapter but the editor may want to PUSH a new series to the front so that it gets more attention.

I would like to point out that Hunter X Hunter, Haikyuu and My Hero despite being among the magazine's best sellers, have low positions ....

So the position in the TOC counts relatively ...

You do realize that we have hundreds of TOCs proving that top series are successful and bottom series are canceled and that despite having some pushing now and then, most part of the TOC is faithful to what readers think it is good, successful series never get too far from the top and it is rare a bad series getting good rankings all of a sudden. It is possible to have good rankings despite bad sales, we've seen this with many series here and the most remarkable one is Hinomaru Zumou, which I don't think you disagree that Jump editors didn't push it at all. We will see what happens with Dr. Stone, maybe they are pushing it or it is just getting good rankings without selling well, if it is the first case, editors will come back to reason pretty soon and throw it to the beasts. Let's see...

Samon <3 Numa Shun really needs to come back with another great gag comedy since it seems like Spring Weapon is ending and Saiki sadly may end soon as well. Hopefully it'll sell better than Samon did though

Hunter x Hunter goes in hiatus so much and don't get canceled anyway that the TOC is really meaningless for it, people don't vote for that because of it. Haikyuu and My Hero Academia rankings has not been bad, the point of the conversation is that My Hero Academia was used to be better at the rankings and now it is decreasing, which can be a indication for the future, but nothing to concern right now. I hasn't been following Haikyuu, reading or seeing sales, so I don't know if it is decreasing in sales and/or the quality has dropped.

Now that these 4 are gone RxL is in a very bad position. If Bozebeats and Act-Age rank better thant RxL there is no reason to keep it in the magazine. Combined with the declining sales it is doomed.
Please stop ;-;

No need to concern. Although people deny that although there are TOCs proving it, Kuroko no Basket had low rankings for years before the anime. There is some fujoshi or fudanshi advocating for them there in Shueisha. XD
