I feel you, after reading the raws for these months ago got me to drop my jaw like I never expected Kawada to go for that route (which I am not complaining), finally getting to read it makes me smile like an idiot

If a slot does open up for the Viz roster, I hope they add Haikyuu to their list.

They've probably been planning to add Haikyuu to the roster for a while, they've been releasing multiple chapters a week on their free site for what must be years now. My guess is we'll see it join the main magazine once they're fully caught up (I don't know when that'll be but it could be predicted fairly easily based on their catch-up rate).

Kimi wo Shiryakuseyo (no english name so I guess it wont be added to viz...) was a decent read. I wish the girl wasnt pretty dumb and dense, would have preferred if she were more of the usual ultra into aliens and things of the occult delusion characters that often run the alien/occult club in school series. (think of the girl in Yamajo anime or in MobPsycho)

Alien boy, Hajime Sorajima, is really cute and adorable, will follow more just for him.

Okay and I did laugh, the whole alienase intro skit was hilarious.

Is there some big arc or development about to scanlated or something? Does it have to do with the last page of the most recent scanlated chapter? If so, then RIP.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, if Shokugeki really ends in next weeks, there will be one open slot for Viz roster.

I doubt that they close it without an announcement first.

Well it is the romantic development between Hinomaru and Reina.

My guess is we'll see it join the main magazine once they're fully caught up (I don't know when that'll be but it could be predicted fairly easily based on their catch-up rate).

They do a volume a month (~10 chapters, sometimes less) Looking at where both currently are Viz at 207 and JP at 299 they are quite far and will take ~10 months (assuming my math is right) just to catch up where JP is now. Assuming Haikyu doesn't end or take any extended breaks in that time there's now another ~40 chapters adding another 4 months meaning unless Viz goes faster we're still over a year for them catching up.

I think food wars needs at the minimum, four or five more chapters. There's at least two cooking matches that probably deserve to be written.

Has Viz ever gone back to an older series to fill a slot anyway? When Bleach/Nisekoi ended they picked up TPN, Red Sprite and Love Rush even though I'm sure Yaiba would have been better than Red Sprite or Love Rush and when Love Rush, Toriko and Red Sprite ended they waited for WNL, Dr. Stone and Robo which I think even skipped a round of Jump Starts.

We Never Learn wasn't old. They just waited until all the series were done (which was 9 weeks after WNL started) to add them

Yeah, no chance of anything that hasn’t been in the last 3 serialisation rounds getting added to Viz, they’re still too far from catching up. They’ll probably just not fill the spot for a while and put something else like OPM in which they’re quite behind on because the magazines been quite full lately.

On the new series, it gave me Saiki vibes, but just cuter and blander. Not bad, and it’s probably got quite a good chance considering how lacking they are in comedies.
