I ended up buying Kimetsu on a whim, even though I've always hated the art style. Rokkutsu-san oneshot have me nightmares. I just have to support battle manga. #dyingbreed.
You realise there are mangaka who serialise series for over a decade in no-name magazines without them even appearing on shoseki? It’s not like every mangaka has a studio either. And what about authors like Ikezawa who’ve spent most of the past decade unserialised yet still manage to survive (which is most mangaka)? Obviously he’s not racking it in, but I imagine simply the fact that he’s in Jump (the biggest manga magazine) means he’s getting enough to be making do.
About Muhyo, I suppose it’s a bunch of factors, like it being a late adaptation so there’s no hype around the manga (Most people probably don’t even know it exists), starting late in the season, and just having a bland first episode that did nothing to differentiate the series from every other fantasy detective series ever. Personally I’m pretty happy with the adaption, but the series itself is generic as can be so far at least. I’m watching it because I’m interested in it, being an old Jump series and all, but I don’t feel like these three episodes haven’t really done anything to make people want to watch it.
Here's something slightly suspicious. Bandai Namco gave out volume 1 of Dr. Stone in a gift bag for an event that's related to Shinobi Strikers. The interesting thing, the gift bags mostly contained Naruto merch. The first Dr. Stone volume only gets officially released in September.
This could just be some small deal that Viz has with Bandai Namco US. Or this could imply that there is a Dr. Stone game in the works, from Bandai Namco? If there is going to be some anime announcement at some point, maybe Bandai Namco will be involved in the production committee?
However, the arrow to those who argue that the paper is in decline compared to digital I will never understand.
There are no data on the digit, but it is clear that the paper always sells less.

I don’t think it’s that deep. Based on twitter, Viz pretty much promotes anything related to Jump titles, even if it’s not related to them. Also keep in mind that Viz does the Naruto dub themselves, so they likely worked on the game.
They’re probably just trying to promote the Dr.Stone English release

At this point the only thing I could see connecting Dr. Stone and Namco is if Stone has some kind of representation in Jump Force. Seems too early for the western branch to be promoting a game when said game hasn't even been hinted at in Japan.
Quite sure people are just overthinking games. The PR teams probably know each other and just had one of the viz guys give them one of the copies just to throw in the loot bags.

Pretty much this. Namco probably just asked every company they knew of involved with Naruto if they wanted to donate something for a prize and Viz saw it a good opportunity to advertise their upcoming release of Dr. Stone and took advantage.

On what basis do you say that paper sells less for a WSJ manga? Show me evidence to support that the generalized market value of digital sales is also equally applied to shounen manga and most specifically WSJ manga.
You can't prove it and HENCE your argument is invalid.
That's my final response to you on this. The next time I'll respond to you on this topic is when you actually have some factual data and not a random generalized number that has been used for the entire industry.
The final pages of Noah's Notes seemed to be really nice. Only read the final pages though, haven't touched it in like 5 chapters or so. Fair ending for something that ended early like that.
I feel like Ikezawa has yet to find that topic that he can put 120% into. He's done 2 sports series and now an adventure series. His characters really need more work though. Weirdly enough, I think his character writing is devolving from Kurogane. If he can find that topic then his character writing might improve.
There's been an update to our forum rules to broaden crediting/sourcing to all series news/announcement, etc. Please read HERE
