They might push this for NHK-E which would be fitting for the series really. It might air in Radiant's current slot which is Saturday evenings at 5:35 PM. The only problem would be however is that if they start in Spring, Heroaca will be playing behind it at 5:30 PM. It shouldn't affect viewership but it is a first having two Jump anime on different channels on at the same time.

The only Morning slots available are on TBS' anisata 630 which Taizai aired on or a TY Tokyo slot. It's possible they might replace Kitaro with Stone in Spring but that would mean Toei and also that DBS would get pushed back. After the Broly movie I can't really see that happening as they'll want to cash in on that.

I know how anime studios work that they request to pick up series but how do tv stations get decided? The same way?

My understanding is that the producer at the "top" of the committee and maybe the publisher in this case meet with their contacts and try to push for a show in a certain slot. To use a concrete example, Toho producer Okamura Wakana said that they believed that Heroaca can reach outside the otaku bubble of anime and can reach a lot more people. The director Nagasaki was brought in by Bones producer Oyabu and they went with him due to his work on Gundam Build Fighters, which was able to reach a lot of people. GBF aired on TV Tokyo on Monday evenings.

So Act-age is probably around 38k right now on Oricon, higher than Sumou ever got to in the top 50. It'll probably barely hold on in the top 100 next week but should be well past 40k. This is great growth for the series. Jigokuraku is also seeing similar growth. I think Act-age can get to 100k eventually if its able to keep this up. It might get an award down the line. I mean someone will push for it to be nominated for the Manga Taisho and maybe the Kono Manga ranking as well.
If volume 4 did ~38k then it is safe to assume the other 3 volumes are in 50~60k territory. All three are near top 100 cutoff

Book-rank has them all in that range and its not too far off from Oricon. I wouldn't be surprised if it was even higher than that.

I saw people on twitter claiming that Dr.Stone is rumored to be done by Production IG. Is there any truth behind this, or is it just a bs rumor. I understand it’s most likely the latter

Nevermind. My question was answered.

The IG rumor is being spread because “IG animated Eyeshield 21, so that means they’ll probably animate Dr.Stone too”

Production IG didn’t even animate Eyeshield 21..... smh

Shoseki Rankings (5/11-11/11)
1. The Promised Neverland #11
5. Black Clover #18
8. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba #13
36. Act-age #4
297. Alice & Taiyo #1

Act-Age has been doing phenomenal this week. Volume 2 at #108, volume 3 at #110, and Volume 1 at #115. It'll be interesting to see how much more growth it will experience. It's starting to look like it may be able to break the 30K Club curse and surpass the limits that Samon and Sesuji sadly couldn't. The recent string of promotions seems to be paying off nicely.

Still sad for Alice to Taiyou though...

Sometimes studio predictions are fun but really hard to get right. I remember how many times me and Cody were trying to predict KnY's studio (often times steering the discussion to KnY's possible studio :cheez). Ufotable was a surprise for us. I think a week before the announcement there were rumors of it being ufotable.

For Dr.Stone, a lot of people here having been saying Toei. I think its going to be like KnY, where it'll be a studio that was least predicted.

Finished Tanaka secretary (20 chapters). The series is bad. The bizarre factor only works for 3 chapters, then the magic disappears. For a comedy it isn't funny. Hopefully the author learns something from this.

Forget most urgent reprint, not volume is even getting a reprint to go to warehouses. The anime hardly made a dent in the sales.
I know, i'm just dreaming while HZ is still around:emocat
Anyway i wonder what can make the manga sell more if even an anime couldn't do that, maybe an interview with a famous sumo wrestler or something like that (do they even read manga lol), i bet that the mongolian yokozuna Hakuho would like Jinou he's highly influenced by him.

If people don't even care about exaggerated exciting manga sumo, what makes you think they would care about boring real life sumo?

A lot of other series get decent anime studios for their adaptations; Kimetsu got Ufotable, Neverland got Cloverworks. Even series from other magazines, Fire Force getting David Productions. Yet Zumou had to get GONZO and a half baked adaptation that would make the Tokyo Ghoul anime proud.

Even if anime onlys are enjoying, which I'm glad and its leading to it getting a bit more of notice, it wont equate to nothing if the manga still doesnt show a boost in its sales

I said it before and I'll say it again: #Hinomarudeservedbetter :emocat

An interview about the manga with a famous sumo wrestler would grab the attention of people who already have interest in sumo, that's what i meant.
