If anything I thinks it’s very clear that the new EIC’s motive isn’t placing the “top” series at the top.
It’s probably a very arbitrary ranking system. Jujutsu, Kimetsu, and Stone being low this week probably means virtually nothing towards their popularity. MHA Jump all over the place likely means nothing.

The only series that placements matter for are the new series

With the anime and movie perfoming so well, and the health and page issues, this was the time to put MHA more on the back and use the front space to promote new series in a more regular basis in that disputed space, since OP and TpN will never drop out of there. The TOC can't do anything to help MhA, the series is already big and established for that.

At this point I only care about how new series do and the preview which were not included in this ToC, most likely OP LCP.

The dip that matches the first 13 page chapter.
I doubt a chapter being shorter will make readers vote that much less, especially considering that the quality of the manga didn't suddenly drop from one week to the next.

The fact, that lots of other manga suddenly ended up either way higher or way lower in the ToC at the same time, suggests that it was Nakano's doing. For example Haikyuu dropped in the toc in the exact week as BnHA did. Other series like Dr Stone or We never Learn on the other hand suddenly got consistent high ranks.

Also, it was confirmed multiple times that the EiC decides the toc. The EiC himself can decide whether he wants the toc to stay close to the poll results or not. If he decides not to, he's free to do so. There's no rule in Jump that the ToC has to display the poll results. The ranking is only sth fans came up with.

The Promised Neverland 2nd novel cover
I miss this duo
Wow, I usually love her work but..that's some pretty lazy art.
The frames are just scribbled in, character portraits have their reference lines as well.

I get she probably didn't have time and it looked complete overall but doesn't take away the incomplete factor.

Oricon Chart for 12/3-12/9 for new Jump volumes
1510524 1514459 One Piece 91
*389393 *389830 Heroaca 21
*367896 *368828 Haikyu 35
*238990 *239346 World Trigger 19
*161174 *161372 Soma 32
*154544 *154883 DBS 8
**83100 **83100 Jujutsu Kaisen 3
**72305 **72305 Bokuben 9
**70774 **70774 Jujutsu Kaisen 0
**59929 **59929 Dr. Stone 8
**53159 **53159 Yuragi 13
**23744 **23744 Sumou 23
-
**16655 **16655 Kinnikuman special Jump issue

Sumou continues to be one of Jump's greatest tragedies. Its got a running anime and had 6 days for the first week and still couldn't break 30k on Oricon. If anything, I'd say its on a downward trend. Jujutsu Kaisen's growth is also great. Not only has it overtaken both Bokuben and Stone by Vol 3, Vol 0 sold more than what Stone has ever sold in the first week, though its not a straight comparison due to the different number of days for each one. Still, It should easily get to 150k before dropping out. That'll make it the best growing series after Neverland in recent years.

World Trigger doesn't have a clean comparison to previous volumes but came in strong. Soma though, continues its decline. Heroaca should be well past 500k next week and grew 24k from the previous volume. Its slow but steady growth. The series is also the type to have long legs. Haikyu has seemingly stabilized. Its too early to call but it might have recovered slightly. The series is the type to frontload its sales so it might not stick around for more than 5 week though.

World Trigger wk 2 will make or break it. Curious if it can hold and get to 300K at least.

How can this be the case when World Trigger did more in one week than Black Clover did in a month despite this being World Trigger's first volume in over a year and a half?

There's nothing strange, World Trigger is older and has a more established fan base.

Even after an indefinite hiatus, WT managed to outsell Trash Wars. With those number Food wars is gonna get bagged soon :hee

The previous WT volume was released when Food Wars vol.23 was released. Food wars sales has dropped pretty hard since then. The decline is real.

I feel like its already been axed and they've been given around 6 months to finish the entire thing. Its not like they have to worry about big sellers seeing as Jujutsu kaisen is growing exponentially, Neverland and Kimetsu have anime coming up next year and Act-age is also steadily growing.
