What is the ToC ranking?
ToC stands for Table of Contents. It's found on the last page of every issue of WSJ, but more importantly, the order the series appear in on the ToC is closely related to the popularity of the series. This is determined by polling the readers; there is a polling postcard in every issue of WSJ.

Each week, a certain guy from 2ch writes out TOC for the following week's Jump. TOC order is usually based on polling result of readers, thus you will know how your favorite series are doing based on the order.

Some exceptions etc:
- For the 2nd-8th chapters, TOC is already decided, though it could change depends on readers' ranking.
- The TOC is affected by the popularity of 8 chapter ago.
- Shueisha's aiming their main target as elementary and junior high school students, thus, their votes weigh probably more than others (fangirls).

Here's to another year of watching Spring Weapon defy the odds and continue to be the line separating safety from danger. I'll keep my eyes open for any upcoming gag comedy series or massive serialization rounds before I start to worry about its fate. It'll probably last 10 volumes, similar to how Samon and Sesuji did. My Best-To-Worst WSJ list of 2017, just not to be too offtopic-

One Piece: OP was pretty good this year. I do enjoy the WCI arc a lot.
Dr.Stone: Why this and not TPN, what I actually enjoy more as a manga? Bc it managed to become a series, which I didnt rly bother with, at the first chapters, to become an exciting, after Senku became the POV and maincharacter.
The Promised Neverland: Pretty good second year, though this little period between the escape and the poacher-arc was a little bit too heavy of exposition, but overall a very enjoyable year.
Kimetsu No Yaiba: Though not a fan of the current arc, overall the one where I've read the entire manga in a short span of time and it was pretty great.
My Hero Academia::Rea~lly dont liked the Yakuza-arc. It had nice moments and characters, but overall nothing which I would care that much. The current one with all the brats is more interesting to me already.
Black Clover: The Witch Forest Arc was a mess(ended this year), the tournament was a mixed bag of nice and bad things and in the year, where Meleleona was established as a character, she started as awesome, but not adding something new to her character and to challenge her made her last appearance quite tiresome.

Surprising Moments:
-Seeing actually kids die in TPN, geez. AND THEN GETTING EATEN.
-Seeing Fairy Tail ending, like, didnt expect that Mashima would end this after all.
-Also seeing a named character in MHA dying. Not sad, bc I actually hoped he would die, bc his quirk was broken, but still didnt expect that he would die.
-After being bothered by KnY's artstyle for so long, I havent expected to like it that much after all.

Worst Moments:
-Seeing GH ending, my poor baby Noah.
-Seeing all these youtubers starting to talk about BC and how much of a clichè-shonen it actually is. Like, guys, the manga is over 3 years old at this point. That's nothing new. READ THE GODDAMN MANGA!
-Realizing that Toriko ended in 2016. Thought it was in 2017.
-Some bits from MHA and BC this year. Yeah, otherwise there isnt that much to mention for this year here.


My hope for WSJ for 2018:
-Only one: The return of World Trigger(Or at least new information/clarification regarding Ashihara)

What would you like to see from WSJ in 2018? Maybe you could call this your expectations for 2018?

-For starters, I want to see at least one rookie/new author take off and find success in the magazine.

-I want to see at least two new manga survive the whole year and move on to 2019.

-I want anime adaptations to get announced for Kimetsu no Yaiba and The Promised Neverland, bonus points if they get good adaptations(please though). I don't follow Bokuben, but honestly, that also has a good chance of getting an anime announced at the end of the year tbh.

-For the World Trigger fans, I hope the author shows some signs of life and returns, either in WSJ or somewhere else.

-I want to see one veteran mangaka make a very kick-ass and memorable new manga in 2018.

Edit: I've though of some new things
-I want to see Kimetsu, Dr. Stone, Neverland, Yuuna continue growing in popularity.

-I want HZ to get a huge or big boost so the manga finally gets the attention it deserves in Japan.

• More battle shonen in the regular lineup
• Proper successes out of Jump Plus
• Kishimoto's new manga and other veteran projects
• An end to all these trashy youtubers
• Something replacing SW1 as the year's phoenix

Hopes and dreams for 2018:
- Spring Weapon anime announcement.
- A big boost in Ashihara Sensei's health, so he can bring us back all the WT hype.
- The winner of the 2016 GFC not changing the one shot premise, like happened with Toteku/Poro.
- A female team sport series like Cross Manage.
- More adventure series with creative premises like Dr. Stone and not the usual demon and magic series like BC and KnY.
- Kempa Trick finally being serialized, I need a handball manga being successful in WSJ.
- The death of RxL to open space for good sport series.

I do agree with you guys, I would love to see an adventure series to take off, like the two recent ones from Sunday(Soukyuu no Ariadne and Marry Grave). As for the Ghost one, we have Yuuna already.
