Jump needs a Korra like mc. For some reason people disliked Legend of Korra compared to Airbender but the mc was great. Girl or guy doesn't matter, they both had good designs for the time period they were in and better yet they'll already have predetermined powers to learn as the series progresses. Make it happen Jump authors!

What Jump needs is another protagonist like Kenshiro, who explodes peoples heads and asks questions later. None of this turn let your enemy live so he can try to kill you time other time thing. Sadly, we probably wont be seeing anyone like him anymore, at least in Weekly Jump.

We already have Toriko, doesn't explode peoples heads but had a lot of gory battles for a magazine like WSJ. He's as close to Kenshiro as you're gonna get in this magazine.

But that was a long time ago, the people in todays world, dont want that stuff. No one wants ugly manly bulky dull leads like Kenshiro in 2018, l, old guard stuff like that and even Berserk are just not relevant. Berserk anime of last year and before is like a joke among anime viewers.

People want things that make them feel happy and light feelings and joyful feelings, not war and post apocalyptic story of sexual harassment/discrimination, slavery, and death.

There's 2 post-apocalyptic series in the magazine right now, one of which is all about death and the other is about creating a country in order to go to war.

Neverland is dark, but it isn't really post-apocalyptic. At least as far as we know, I guess they could easily throw the audience a curve-ball and reveal that the human world has been totally fucked up.

That's the key phrase there. Fist of the blue sky is big with 13 million in print for 22 volumes (and an upcoming anime) but it was more than likely piggybacking off of North Star. Also while its true that that overly muscular character design is outdated, I'd say the Kenshiro archetype of stoic, silent, rugged, etc is what's more outdated. Do you believe that Jotaro would be the iconic character he is now had he been introduced in this decade in the exact same way? He'd most likely still be very popular but that iconic "charisma" probably wouldn't impress a lot of people. Its stands that there are a good amount of people that aren't really fond of Jotaro, having seem him first from the TV anime.

All Might and even Endeavour are well received despite the bulky designs. Whitebeard and many of the muscled characters in OP are also well received so its not the character design that's the problem. The problem is evolving or tweaking the Kenshiro archetype for this new generation.

Huh, the mangaka of KnY is a woman? Didnt know that, bc you never really can tell with shonen mangaka, though, I kinda can see it how certain characters are written, I guess. Still, interesting to know.

He's a completely misunderstand character, with depths and potential for many heartbreaking characterdevelopment. Also, he doesnt look like a generic fujoshi mc. The cancellation of his empire was the first sign that the system is freaking rigged, man.

And that is truly sad. But even sadder that that will be when Gintama ends, since Gintoki is really one of the more unique main characters in a Jump series. I doubt we will be seeing someone like him for a while.
