I really wish Black Clover received a better anime. The series isn’t the best, but with better pacing and a season run it could have been a waaay better experience.

People we excited to have a new long runner battle shonen from on the rise series initially, but then we remembered the cons of having a long runner and why we usually hope for seasonal to begin with

Why bother arguing about it? Do you like BC? It's all right. Do not you like BC? Alright too. Staying here arguing about something future that may be either probable or improbable will not change anything for the time being. What you should do is wait, because you never know what might happen. Imagine everyone believing that BC no longer boosts in the manga, but in the end, a real boost happens. The Japanese people are very different from here, there often happens things in the Universe of Animes and Mangas that we from the west would never expect to happen. It's not worth discussing whether "by any chance, BC will boost or not." I think it's better to discuss other more important things, since BC still has another year of transmission, and anything can happen.

Sorry for my bad english.

Man, Yabuki is unrestrained on Jump Plus

You guys think the first volume of DarliFra will be as successful as World End Harem? I think it have a legitimate shot at being a 100k seller

24 anime episodes is at least 8 volumes in manga
8 volumes is at least 2 years in real life time

this is kinda of a long term commitment so it better be successful for Yabuki's sake

I do not believe there is a demand for long animes, just a vocal minority. That being said, I do not think the problem is the size of the anime but the pacing.

It all comes down to luck. Luckily, long running anime are a dying trend, good riddance to them and all the problems they tend to have. Pierrot and Toei are still the only ones that are really willing to do long-runners all the time.

I could be the only one that feels this way but the way Black Clover handles its' main cast it makes the story way worse than it appears since more spotlight is brought on it. Somehow I've read and watched much worse.

The Pierrot Studio and the Toei Animation are studios that really leave a lot to be desired in animation and other aspects. However, it is undeniable to say that they are the best studios for success. The Pierrot studio managed to make manga like Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, Tokyo Ghoul and somehow Bleach a worldwide success. Toei Animation was successful with One Piece, Saint Seya and Sailor Moon. These studios know how to succeed, the problem is that this success does not always happen with all the works. BC is a "world-wide success", but he managed to attract a legion of haters, which before was summarized in Japan, but which is now worldwide. This haterism causes BC to have certain difficulties to gain a big boost in the manga. What I hope, as a fan of BC (although not a fanboy), is that BC can get a bit more boost, but only time will tell.

I think Black Clover is really benefiting from the slowed pacing and world building in the anime.
It produces an experience much different than the manga and that's hardly a bad thing .
Reminds me of Hunter x Hunter 1999 (not to compare the quality of the manga) in how different but suitable of an adaptation it is from the source material just because of tone, pacing, and tweaks in characterisation.

I don't want to get into this too much but the cons (or more likely the schedule) of long running anime are already catching up with BC.

I posted this in the BC anime thread, but the director, Yoshihara is apologizing for Episode 17, saying that lots of parts "melted" and that its due to his lack of ability. What this means exactly we'll have to see on Tuesday but it can be anything from a few bad frames to some pretty bad sequences.

My discussion is about the sales. Not my fault some feel like they need to defend it even though I'm using facts that were presented few pages ago. If this was TPN instead of BC, I'd still be here discussing it because I like to talk about sales in general. People who've seen me comment on MH forums know how I like to talk about sales.
I can respect that because I like hearing about the sales as well. So you're good in my book......for now.:hi

Even after 51 episodes, people will still be saying to wait until the second season to begin to see if it will have a big boost.

I don't think Black Clover will sell more than this per volume.

I forgot to post this earlier but Neverland was given another full introduction on a Talk show:

I'm not sure which show this is but they are pitching it as "Check out this future Hit series!" and also mentioning the Manga Taisho 2018 nomination.

Yeah people were complaining about it being an asspull.
It seems like one side is arguing that Nezuko's healing powers came out of nowhere and basically removed all major consequences from the arc, while the other side argues that her fire ability that only destroys demon cells is being used to destroy the poison (since it came from a demon).
Personally, I only see it as less of an asspull and more of a plot convenience. We'll have to wait and see if there are truly any consequences post arc.
If you read the translation of the spoilers
Nezuko did not heal their wounds, she only got rid of the Poison that came from Gyuutarou's blood using her fire, like that one time she woke up Tanjirou from Enmu's dream on the train
Also, it only got mixed reception here, which generally came from people that saw the pics without context, if you go to 2ch people are generally fine with it because it didn't came out of nowhere.

They're definitely not going to give up on BC. Its not a complete flop like Beelzebub or Medaka Box which did nothing to increase sales of their respective manga and its too young to pull the plug on it I mean it took Toriko three years for them to realized it wasn't meeting expectations but let's not repeat this discussion every time its sales get brought up.
Was beel a complete flop though? I mean, yeah it wasn't a huge success but it was more comedy than action I'd say.
If you consider it as a comedy manga, it did pretty well. Furuichi was one of the funniest characters WSJ had since maybe anything from Gintama.
But yeah, if you talk about it as a battle manga, I'd say it didn't do well.

Beelzebub was like a Gintama. A comedy manga with a battle manga aesthetic. Not necessarily a parody, yet self aware. I think it was pretty successful for such a tonally ambitious manga in Jump.
One of my favorite manga ever.

I haven't read Toriko so I can't comment on that, but I find it hard to believe. I'm not saying anything should get a pass or anything, it was just an idea that popped up in my head.

Maybe I meant the asspull aspect as a general thing, since pretty much any battle shounen has a power system or some kinds of powers right off the bat and that's where the asspull aspect starts off and it's a continuous spiral, in my eyes. Does it prevent me from enjoying manga? not really, since it is manga.
Why is that hard to believe? It's not just Toriko but a lot of other battle shonens have little asspulls. Toriko came to mind since it's the more recent ones that had very little to none asspulls.

Anyway someone cleared it up and it wasn't an asspull. I guess people, including myself, were jumping to conclusions as people on 2ch were fine with the recent spoiler.
