What if...
AfO is Deku who came from the future? The Deku who fell on the dark side of the force. Just imagine, the greatest villain of the story... is the main character!!! :o:o:o LOL
Sounds like something right out a marvel/dc comic

2. Golem Hearts tanking that hard shocked me. It's failure didn't but this is shockingly bad. Did U19 or anything else in recent Jump history sell this poorly?
Demon's Plan and one other manga i forgot that did not make the list. It was couple post after the sales figure from iceemperor.

I missed you. I've seen some Saiki fans saying that the manga might be approaching to its conclusion and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, it's been going for a while.
Thanks! It's busy season at my job, so I'll probably only pop by on the weekends for the next few months. Saiki has been going on for awhile, but I hope it won't end just yet since WSJ would be majorly missing out on its comedy element. With Saiki and Gintama gone (and inevitably Spring Weapon), there'd be a pretty big comedy void left.

Thanks! I found the post. Skimmed a bit too fast for my own good lol. Golem Hearts truly was a roller coaster of hype and eventual failure. I thought it was a bit boring, but barely ranking in the top 500 on its first day seemed extreme.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks BC could end with less than 25 volumes because how ridiculously fast everything is going.
Take the current fight between Chronos and Licht for example. They just told everyone who the real traitor was and now he is fighting the Magic Emperor.

  • If Chronos dies the title of Magic Emperor will be open and Asta/Yuno could take it, because plot.
  • If Licht dies the main antagonist of the manga is gone.
  • Right now the captain of the Golden Dawn is gone either way (the guy who looked like Berserk's Griffith was the traitor, how shocking) and Yuno will become the next captain, because everyone else in that guild is literal fodder.
  • If none of them die and Licht escapes he won't have anywhere to return to, because the Fire Lion captain is destroying his floating castle.
  • If Licht wins and gets the Magic Stones (Infinity Stones didn't sound cool enough, huh) he can erase all of humanity.
You could speculate which scenario comes true, but this is BC and the most cliche one will come true so Yuno is gonna become the next Golden Dawn captain, Chronos will die to protect the kingdom, Yuno and Asta will be one big step closer to their dream of becoming Magic Emperor, and after that there will be nothing left than to defeat Licht and save the world from the evil elves.

Doesn't sound like something that could go on for over 30 volumes without going 4 times slower than the anime.
Or a third option, Chronos is grieveously wounded, but alive. But this basically makes him physically unfit to lead the kingdom and someone will have to run it in his place.

this is just an echo chamber affect

Golem Hearts never had any hype, beside like 3 or 4 people in this thread who wouldn't stop talking about, even when the oneshot was released I don't recall seeing anyone on Japanese forums caring enough to talk about it

sad thing is the same group of people have been doing the same thing with Takamasa Moue and Kei Monri's shit, so when or if Galaxy Gangs and Wonderful Wonder World get serialized and flop people will be surprised because they have been subjected to 3+ years of shitposting about how amazing these oneshots were and we will be doing this dance again

That's a fair point. All I was seeing was on English sites, where pretty much no one talked about Full Drive. But those don't really matter and differences in reception can be quite different between English and Japanese communities.

I don’t see anything wrong with people getting hype for a series based on a one shot. It’s the whole point of pilot episodes and one shots to begin.
And unlike Japan, unless you’re someone who reads Japanese and have access to Japanese sites, most of use aren’t going to be exposed to every one shot that gets released. We take what gets translated and looks appealing.

Everyone here knows how Jump works. We all know that a series is more likely to fail than succeed. But I don’t see the problem with ppl hoping for a series to succeed based on enjoying the one shot.

Lord dude there is literally nothing wrong with being excited for a series that was formerly a one shot hoping that it'll succeed. Idk why Mammo keeps saying this stuff when he does the same thing with one shots he likes. The only thing me and others said was they enjoyed the one shot and was excited for potential of the series

The same would happen if he dies..

you can like what you like and be excited for whatever you want

I'm just explaining why something appears to have "hype" when it really doesn't

Hungry Joker is proof of where excitement about an oneshot can lead us to... Excitement about an oneshot is meaningless. Most of them doesn't turn into a series and the ones that do turn out to be completely different from the oneshot, for the better or worse, most of the time worse.

This. Just don't get excited for one-shots ever, people. Only keep an eye on something if it actually gets a serialization.

I know that here is not the place to comment on the history of BC.
But commenting quickly.
I know some people who are theorizing that:
This current arc of BC is the end of the first part of the manga.
This bow will end with the Yuno being possessed by Licht.
Because the place where Yuno is going is a Licht trap to steal his body.

After that we'll have a timeskip.

The second part of the manga will be:
Asta trying to bring Yuno back to his normal body.
Where have I seen this?
LOL

This is such stupid thinking lol.
Why though? Let's say a one-shot is really good and whatever, but it never actually gets serialized, that's pretty shitty. Let's say a one-shot gets serialized, but the actual manga is completely different, sometimes, things go well and we end up with successful serializations, but most times things change for the worse and things get axed after 3 volumes. This is why I find getting invested into a one-shot pointless, especially for WSJ when so many one-shots come and go.
Why are people so negative on this thread?
Maybe my way of thinking is weird, give me some reasons as to why I should get excited for one-shots then.
