Years of experience. We know what happens with oneshots turned into a series. I'm here for 6 years, for example, I've seen everything already. XD

I've never found a one-shot or a one volume one-shot short contained story that I can say I really enjoyed, because things are too short for me.

The keeping an eye on the mangaka reason seems kind of decent, I sort of did that with the Bozebeats guy, but I won't do it again, I'll just look at serializations from now when it comes to following a newer mangaka from now on, since at least with a serialization, I know we'll really be able to get a better picture on the author and his capabilities and if he can keep up with the WSJ schedule.

Why though? Let's say a one-shot is really good and whatever, but it never actually gets serialized, that's pretty shitty. Let's say a one-shot gets serialized, but the actual manga is completely different, sometimes, things go well and we end up with successful serializations, but most times things change for the worse and things get axed after 3 volumes. This is why I find getting invested into a one-shot pointless, especially for WSJ when so many one-shots come and go.

Maybe my way of thinking is weird, give me some reasons as to why I should get excited for one-shots then.

One shot A comes out and you like It, there's nothing wrong with saying I wish it'll be a series, you're not hurting anybody or anything. The same applies to if it gets serialized. What you're saying might apply to you personally but not everyone

I know some people who are theorizing that:

This current arc of BC is the end of the first part of the manga.
This bow will end with the Yuno being possessed by Licht.
Because the place where Yuno is going is a Licht trap to steal his body.

After that we'll have a timeskip.

The second part of the manga will be:
Asta trying to bring Yuno back to his normal body.

Where have I seen this?

Talking about parts of manga ending: In Dr. Stone's latest chapter

the "first chapter" of the story finished and the "second chapter", Stone Wars, is starting.

I guess Dr. Stone could end with less than 200 chapters at this pace.

Bozzbeats had 3 people say it was good who are credible enough for others to take them seriously: random toc guy, heji, and yonkou. If that series flops will you say the same thing when everyone was trashing it from the jump? It's not a crime to like something knowing it will fail lol. Plus when people talk about it it's not like they were being serious, it was always a playful tone.

Also author did a weird but hilarious thing. Built up Byakuka as Senku's father, just to retcon it at the last second. Probably got cold feet and forgot Jump's a kid magazine and didn't want any incentous relationship between Senku and the sisters. Shit was so funny. I liked the backstory for what it's worth but I think I'll always be mild-mannered towards this series. Will never be anything special or ground breaking, just fun to follow cause it's different.

Well, maybe Toei will fix their shit with their new improved HQ and modern studio. We might be praising Toei a few years from now, a complete 180 could happen and that would be interesting. OLM and their Sun and Moon production is proof that amazing things can be achieved long-term with the right technology advancements.
