I dont understand. Why couldnt this have been an OVA? I'd perfer to just get into the story.

According to comments on Twitter from the people who watched the dub premiere at AnimeBoston, the episode will cover the forest of beasts fight, so that original scene shouldn't take too much of the episode. We'll just have to wait and see.

This is obviously an april fool. The episode title is already confirmed as "Game Start", which is the line Shigaraki says in both PVs. So episode 1 is probably going until

It’s around 280. Since 24 eps is 120 chapters, they’ll have to cut a fair amount to reach 280, but there’s no real reason they won’t since it’s episodic anyway.

Jigokuraku Manga PV (Shonen Jump+)

Any bets on how much Jigokuraku vol.1 will sell? It seems to be doing really well in the Jump+ daily rankings.

Would surprise me if it even charts. Other plus manga have been just as promising in rankings and word of mouth and only made it to around the 200th mark on their first volume. Though I'd probably say closer to charting than not. So 5-10k, that'll really put it up there as far as plus is concerned.

HOLy shiiit. If someone told me this was happening I'd believe it was an April Fool's joke. Gyuudon and Lafin back again, this time with a banger of a PV, been loving Jigokuraku, I'm so happy this is a thing. Bout to link this to a bud immediately.

It did have the momentum to be one when the first few chapters got viral in Japan. But failed to follow through on it.
