Build King preview says its about a boy named Kugi who builds houses for animals and that he has a secret. Its also described as a “Shocking Build Battle” Oneshot and mentions that a villain has appeared in the Build World.

Kugi could be a pun on the Japanese word for “Nail”. If so that would actually be pretty neat because it also relates to Toriko with the whole “Nail Punch” thing. Otherwise Im just overthinking it lol.

The way it mentions colour pages is weird, though I’m not too used to the lingo they use on these preview pages. It literally says “Colour 55 Pages” though I guess that could mean a colour page and 55 pages on top of that?

Edit: So looked up the preview for Inishie no Horobimon and that said "Centre Colour 49 Pages", so we can probably expect more than one colour page for Build king I guess. Pls be the entire thing

Most definitely Shimabu will sneak in a Toriko reference for sure if that's the case.

Yeah it is weird. Well we'll see next issue. I guess MS for sure will pick it up.

What might also be interesting is sth like an underground sports manga, basically similar to Kaiji just as a sports manga. The characters have the pressure to perform because their life depends on it. On top of that, since it takes place in the underground, they might play with rule variations, players try unfair tactics to win, etc. Although that would most likely end up being a seinen manga instead of a shounen.
Didnt Ultra Battle Satellite was about underground martial arts? Its not on the same level as Kaiji but thats probably the closest thing we´ve got to an underground sports manga, tho its indeed a neet idea that is not been covered in the magazine

Build King certainly sounds different to what I had been expecting, I'm really curious to see what it's actually like.

Builds a house for animals? Sounds like a house from a Disney movie...Snow White & the 7 dwarfs (Havent watched the movie in ages but remember a scene where there were a bunch of animals in the house?) . Interesting enough...Toriko was singing "heigh ho" post-TS.

If Shima says animals I imagine giant fantasy creatures like the 8 Kings and not dogs or cats.
Yeah, I was thinking the same. Shima is the best in the game with creature designs, so you can bet he'll leverage that skill to the fullest.

I am curious, What type of manga do you guys want to see in WSJ and what author do you want it to be done by? Go nuts
A spokon manga about handball or ice hockey.

If we go about shonen...a manga based in Don Quixote would be very nice and with a lot of potential.

I'm surprised they're usually region locked. Sweet thanks for the link.

Im pretty sure its just a crap shoot when it comes to succeeding in WSJ. Luck of the draw.
Simply, if a new series like people, is voted against the older ones, if you do not get the slightest vote just wants to say that people are not liking or that they are not just reading .....

So no, it's not just luck. Whether you like it or not the series was liked right away since the Jump, except rare cases, to newcomers, hardly gives many possibilities if they do not go well right away.
