I don’t mean to downplay that event (and I’m sure this isn’t the place to discuss this) but I have a feeling that’s not the sole reason for him deactivating his twitter. The internet is a scary place, and if that was something that would solely lead to deactivation, then he wouldn’t have been on there in the first place, especially with his status in the community. Or maybe I’m completely off the mark with what I’m talking about and the shock of it all lead to his deactivation.

I think we should just wait this out until we get some concrete answers instead of jumping to conclusions.

Someone brought it up earlier (dont know who) but I agree it does bother me that Kimetsu lost it's focus on saving his sister. Most series that switch to a battle manga does this but with Kimetsu it's more bothersome than others I feel. It's still a fun series but I hope we can get a less battle shonen focused arc next to help.

My condolences to whichever studio gets picked for Kimetsu no Yaiba if it gets an adaptation. I was curious about the manga and checked a few chapters. The art is too detailed especially with the clothes and has too many lines.

Edit: This looks like an animator's nightmare
That was with that specific arc where the designs got super detailed but overall it needs a good character designer.

Damn, you're right. I totally forgot that his objective was to save his sister.

I don't see how it "switched" to a battle shounen, it was pretty much set up as a battle shounen from the beginning.

Eh, Kimetsu’s no different to anything else. If a studio wants to and is able to do it properly, they will. If they don’t, then they won’t. Having obscure art doesn’t really change anything. People act like something like this has never been animated before. Personally, I’m not expecting an announcement until closer to the 150 mark.

I was the one who complained. I don't have so much problem with the battle shonen aspect, but considering that the starting point of the manga is Tanjirou trying to find a cure for his sister, it's a bit sad that their relationship has been overshadowed by the fights, organizations and power ups. What seemed to be just a bridge became the focus.

MHA seems like it would be more of an animators nightmare than Kimetsu. I go to school for illustration and animation and the thought of animating Bakugo(In costume), Shigaraki, and detailed All Might scares me

The entire manga is leading up to defeating Muzan so that Tanjiro can get the cure for Nezuko. Tanjiro himself knows that he's nowhere near capable of defeating Muzan at his current strength level, so it's only natural that he has to power up.

Yeah, but the attention to those things is greater than the attention given to Nezuko. That's why I love when there's a flashback of Tanjirou with his family.

I'm not by any means an animation major, but here's my thoughts on it:

I'd say that they're about equal level. When you compare Stain to Uzui, they have a similar level of detail in their character design, but Umakoshi was able to portray Stain really well without sacrificing too much detail.

Sure, Uzui has a lot of detail in his design, but just like Stain, a lot of it can be simplified down without losing the base design. Plus, a lot of the details on Uzui's body (specifically his head) are static, so they don't need to be "animated" like say, hanging chains or a flowing scarf. If a character design like Stain can be handled well, then I'm sure Uzui can too.

Basically what I'm saying is, I want Bones to do the Kimetsu anime please :(

Well, Tanjiro doesn't really have any leads on how to cure Nezuko, so there's not much he can do. I'm pretty sure there's going to be some researcher who's studying how to revert the demonization since these types of manga always have those characters who are obsessed with the demons (think Hange from SnK).

I'm fine with David Pro/Shaft, even if David Pro is really unlikely though.

Isn't Tamayo researching that? Last arc all he did was just send a blood sample via crows, that's all we got. If we get more details with her research this arc or the next then I'm totally fine with it.

Neither Stain or Uzui look that bad to me. Using onion skin would make the tracing of them not so bad.
I say Bakugo be his giant Gauntlets makes it hard to get a sense of how his arms move depending on the angle you’re drawing him in.
Shigaraki because pretty much any artist(regardless of skill level) will tell you that drawing hands is a challenge and most artist despise drawing hands. So animating a character covered in hands would be a nightmare.
And All Might due to the amount of detailing and blacks, it would be hard to move around the blacks/shading on him in each frame. Animating All Might at the same quality that he’s drawn in the manga would be tedious

Didnt someone post that kimetsu hit 150k in oricon sales last week? Or was that just relating to series sales, not the latest volume?

Kimetsu has a lot of potential in terms of popularity. I see so many cosplays on twitter it's pretty insane for a series without an anime.

I think he means 150 chapters, not 150k volume sales.

The latest volume got pushed off of the March sales chart so the bar hasn't technically been passed.
