We don't have exact knowledge if the 8 week rule is true or not, but the common conscious is that the ToC is behind by 8 weeks. The speculation as for the reason behind the eight week rule is that after the 8th week a series has published enough chapters to release a volume and it gives WSJ a chance to actually count out the votes for a series first chapter in an eight week period. From the first volume and with all of the first 8 chapters getting ranked by the time a second volume is set to release it gives the company a pretty good understanding on how well received a series is by the general public and helps them decided if the series is worth continued publication or getting the all mighty AXE though there are outliers to the eight week rule so its best to remember that. Also to add on the ToC isn't a definite ranking system but its about the best we got in terms of knowing how well a chapter was received by Japan.I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not. But is the ToC ranking 8 weeks behind and if so is there a reason for this?
people say it is yet there is never been any official confirmation of it being the case. Basically all ToC tells us if a new series is near the end around 8 chapters after starting it'll probably be axed.I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not. But is the ToC ranking 8 weeks behind and if so is there a reason for this?

What a beast. When entering the 2000s, Araki came to feel that the 19 pages per chapter mandated by Jump was unsatisfactory, and he moved to Ultra Jump where he felt he could produce higher number of pages. There are things he felt for the first time after leaving Shonen Jump.
Not sure if this is ok to post here. I literally only use this forum for this thread and never really ventured the site beyond here
So I’m an illustration student in college currently. In my human figure class we had a project where we had to sculpt hands interacting. I decided to sculpt a Kamehameha. I’m not much of a sculptor since this is my first time. But thought I’d share anyway![]()
You should read the "manga in theory" book by Araki. you ll appreaciated him even moreWhat a beast.
