Here's hoping Anime Lab nabs TPN for Australia. They're so good with surprisingly good subs and instant releases.
every single new license? they barely get any. Of the ones they do get their shared with Crunchyroll (Boruto, Osomatsu). I think you'd have to go back years to find something that was truly exclusively streamed from Viz (the year that Accel World, Lagrange, and Zetman came).Anyone but Viz. They've managed to fuck up every single new license they get their hands on with late subs and piss poor domestic releases.
Many thinks so much things about different studios. A-1 for me is plenty fine, just like the majority of the studios. What matters for me is the staff chosen in the end.*comes out of lurking*
Then they should just make a new season of Gakkou Gurashi. Don't get me wrong, I love moe stuff too but making Emma moe would just not fit. I don't mind slightly altering the design but if they turn her into some Kirara moe girl and add forced fanservice, I'll probably have to cry myself to sleep.
Many think that A-1 sucks in general. I thought so too at one point.
The shows you listed are the types that A-1 excels at. But the ones A-1 does not excel in are shows like Magi, NanaTai, Ao no Exorcist, BokuMachi and Kuroshitsuji (seasons 1 and 2, 3 was nice). I know these boosted their popularity but their adaptations were...questionable and yes, boosting the manga is what matters at the end of the day, but fans of the original work have the right to voice their opinions.
I'm probably in the minority here since I'm used to watching shoujo and otome anime get many crappy adaptations but I'd take Gonzo any day if they stuck to the story properly. No amount of fancy animation can save a show for me if they butcher the story. It would just be a polished turd.
Neverland is outside of Noitamina's usual targetbase. Sure you get anomalies like Inuyashiki, Saekano, Kabaneri, and Psycho-Pass, but the majority is aimed at OLs and older women, not particularly Otaku. Its notable that lots of Noitamina shows don't sell discs unless you're the aforementioned Saekano, Kabaneri, etc. which are more otaku-centric. I think we'll most likely get the usual Tokyo MX, BS11 and some other local stations unless it goes on NTV's Anichu, or TV Tokyo's late night block.I could totally see TPN on Noitamina. And on a yearly basis, at least one show from this block is from A-1, while the others are from a variety of studios.
Just looking at the colour pages, its obvious they'll probably tone down the amount of detail. The colour pages take full advantage of the medium. This medium is different but I do believe that they will be moefied to an extent simply for commercial appeal. The level is what we have to look out for. It could be a Sumou level change or, the worst case scenario, a Jitsu Wa Watashi wa type change which would honestly be a disaster, or anything in between. Either way, direction and pacing will be the key here.Honestly my only avarice towards how they handle Neverland is the character designs. For the adaptation of Seven Deadly Sins they had to sacrifice a lot of Nakaba's detailed art so the many impressive spreads look terrible animated and the art in TPN is already very rough around the edges so any screw-ups would make it look very unappealing in anime form.
Jojo Part 4 was streamed by Viz, they also handled Sailor Moon Crystal, TerraFormars and both seasons of K. Accel World and Lagrange weren't execlusive either.every single new license? they barely get any. Of the ones they do get their shared with Crunchyroll (Boruto, Osomatsu). Their release of Sailor Moon was terrible, had very poor picture and sound quality and the way they address these complaints was very unprofessional. Other releases such as Rise of the Nura Clan, and Magi also had problems with their domestic release. Top off the fact that they do a very poor job marketing their shows and they wonder why Tiger and Bunny didn't do well in the US and they outright ignored Accel World and Lagrange.I dont understand your domestic release complaint, their release of JJBA was praised for being vastly better than the warner bros release for it, hxh disc have had no complaints either. One Punch Man release was praised and also included OVAs immediately.
All their subs are late.Which late subs are you talking about?
They never licensed Captain Tsubasa for release outside the US to begin with which is a shame but understandable.Id imagine for Captain Tsubasa, there has to be something behind the scenes that is preventing its streaming though, do you think theyd willingly hold it hostage for no reason?
Those first three were all shared with Crunchyroll, not exclusive. JJBA Part 4 was Crunchyroll, Sailor Moon Crystal was Crunchyroll, Terraformars was also Crunchyroll.Jojo Part 4 was streamed by Viz, they also handled Sailor Moon Crystal, TerraFormars and both seasons of K. How does that change the fact that Viz subbed all those shows? Your crusade to defend them makes no sense. Those first three were all shared with Crunchyroll, not exclusive. JJBA Part 4 was Crunchyroll, Sailor Moon Crystal was Crunchyroll, Terraformars was also Crunchyroll.
Wrong. Those shows are available on other platforms outside Viz. They were never execlusive to begin with. There's no such thing as exclusivity with anime subs anymore.Accel World, Lagrance, was and still is exclusive, they were only on viz and through viz's hulu.
I explicitly remember their subs for Jojo and K being late, you either got Ks subs from another vendor.I think your late subs thing is still incorrect, unless you mean late as in for people who didnt pay for Hulu at the time? I watched K and etc the day their aired when viz was simulcasting.
Why are you showing me this when you can't legally stream Captain Tsubasa in the US as of now? That obviously means that the license doesn't extend to US territories.Viz Media announced on Wednesday that it has licensed the upcoming new Captain Tsubasa anime. The license includes digital streaming, electronic sell-through (EST), home video, and merchandise rights for North America and Latin America.
I think if something is exclusive and on a more prevalent platform then it doesnt really matter if viz subbed it or not. People have options and usually prefer Crunchyroll and their team. I dont usually watch the same anime on multiple platforms to compare their subs or not. Similar to manga its not like one is forced to only read one companies translation. How does that change the fact that Viz subbed all those shows? Your crusade to defend them makes no sense.
Well I dont need to defend when you said what the problems are. I dont own those discs so I cant actually talk about them. I do buy their Naruto and such, but those are DVDs so I dont own their BDs. I was only asking to hear what the problems were with stuff that I dont have.Good to see you didnt bother to defend their domestic releases.
Can the live action be announced first before speculation is started?Do you all think Neverland is going to be just like Ansatsu, and will have a big boost with a Live Action and not with the anime?
Eh, I have the Hunter x Hunter 2011 releases they've put out so far and they're pretty solid. VIZ is not ideal for me either, but if they put it out, I'll still bite.Anyone but Viz. They've managed to fuck up every single new license they get their hands on with late subs and piss poor domestic releases.
There hasn't been any problems with their recent releases (outside the shoddy upscaling for the Bleach blurays) but for a while Viz Media was the scorn of every anime fan just for how botched their releases were until recently.Eh, I have the Hunter x Hunter 2011 releases they've put out so far and they're pretty solid. Jujutsu ought to still be in the top 6 and Ziga should be high up. I cant wait to see my series perform awesomely. No more burn outs like Bozebeats please. This always ends up happening when there's a break coming. Hopefully we get the ToC fairly early again.
Should be Noah's Notes first ranking next issue though, with Ziga coming in two issues from now. (I know it's not an exact science but it's all we have so I roll with it.)and Ziga should be high up. I cant wait to see my series perform awesomely.
It'll probably get one at the end of the year. The series is only around a 130k seller so it could wait a bit.Awesome cover is awesome.
PD: Now Kimetsu is the only 2016 title with no anime ''announcement''
