Kingdom fans thought that for some unknown reason the big announcement would be a localization of the Kingdom manga and are now salty that it wasn't. No clue why Bleach fans are butthurt again.
Probably hoping it was an anime renewal/reboot and are mad it isn't

Well it would either be that or a manga continuation pick the poison really.

When are Bleach fans ever not butthurt? The live action film comes out in two months and all they care about is whether the anime comes back or not.

HZ would be nice to own if it has roughly 30 vols. If viz releases 15 vols omnibus then do not sign me up.

More like if Viz releases HZ at all. Which they won't. If Japan, literally the country of sumo, doesn't have much of a HZ fanbase, then the west won't either.

The attention for Bleach rose because of the Live-Action Movie and the recent Instagram account,

https://www.instagram.com/bleach_official_pr/

speaking of which, wonder what they are counting to?

Gotei 13?
2016?
72
volumes?

eh, have to wait and see..

also,

If the anime has a decent enough audience in the West I think they’ll bring it over

The more I read of this current saga in Hinomaru Sumou the more I wish Kawada had transfered the series to Young Jump after Part 1. Its a compelling story but the structure just seems like something that the target audience of Shonen Jump will not fully appreciate. There's a reason a lot of Shonen Sports manga don't do the sport at the professional level, unless the structure of competition lends itself well for the hype and hot-blooded action we want. The type of thinking at that level is inherently different from school sports. In school sports, tournaments rarely happen over more than 2-3 days. Here in Sumou for example, the tournament is scheduled to take place over 15 days. Onimaru is going all out from his first match. There's also a lot of psychological elements going on now regarding Onimaru's drive for Sumou. A character even remarks that he doesn't say "I'm going to become the Yokozuna!" like he did back during the school sports saga. Its "non-Shounen-like" in a different vein from HxH, which can pass but sports series will have difficulty.
While I absolutely agree, its not like the target audience of Jump resonated with Part 1 either, so... Nothing to really lose I guess.

On the Yokozuna thing, I suppose its because its not actually possible. At minimum, He’d have to win the next three tournaments to even be considered given his current rank. And even then, That’s assuming you can just skip any of the San’yaku ranks, which I dont think is a thing.

if he has time to come to america, then id have to really question how he has no time to write content.

I'd argue that there actually is more to lose right now. For Part 1, the focus was on the traditional "reach the nationals and win" objective. It was also well written and full of hot-blooded moments. The questionnaire results we don't see must have been good enough to keep Sumou in despite the low volume sales. For Part 2, the same cannot be said as first, the characters we got close to in Part 1 basically become cameo characters. That means the bonds aspect is not front and center like it was in Part 1. Next, Onimaru himself has changed, you can say he's more mature. A lot of characters up to the current yokozuna frequently comment on his drive, what Sumou is to him and the like. There has to be a reason to this and the story itself has a mature feel to it. The goal of becoming Yokozuna is still there but its not as focused as Part 1. This means that the questionnaire results can drop. If the votes drop, the series may well end halfway through the anime or at the same time the anime ends.

I didnt even know Kingdom had fans in the west tbh. The series, as great as it is, is relatively unknown elsewhere which is a shame.
I have no idea why people think a Bleach announcement will come. Then again, that's a fandom for you. I'm sure if Naruto ended without all this Boruto crap, you'd see every single post on Viz have multiple comments on Naruto.

I'd rather he come up with longer serializations tbh
