Why is it that you guys constantly ignore the fact that BC had about 13 volumes worth of backlog sales hence why it even made the top 10
One Punch Man and Tokyo Ghoul reached their level because they had backlog sales during the time their animes originally aired too. No one is singling out BLack Clover and looking only in a vacuum.

I'm not sure what Ziga wants to do. It may be because I began skimming the chapters after a while but now its become a sort of weird suicide mission to defeat all the other Kaijuu weapons in this organization. Before it started out like Godzilla AoT and then brought in World Trigger-like influences with Psycho-Pass' dominator. Now its a battle royale like series? I should re-read it more carefully but its not able to keep my interest. There are some find twists in the story like what happened this latest chapter but its not enough to make me seriously read it.

Robo on the other hand has my interest but its too slow. Fujimaki keeps on adding in dialogue taking away from some of the heat. On one hand its like he knows he won't be cancelled since he wouldn't go at this 1-2 chapters per hole pace if he was but it takes away too much. He's having difficulty in creating tension without covering a lot of holes though that may be something inherent for a golf manga.
Just looking at it's recent chapters I'm pretty sure it's ending soon. Kind of a waste of really good art too

What does it matter if it's backlog or not? Those are sales. They add up, not only 1 week sales matter. Series gets more popular over time, anime helps, but you want to exclude the boost of the anime, ok.

So do tell me then: what is the average popularity in sales in Japan? Since 300k (physical copies only) seems it's below average according to you. NnT is super popular, not just popular.

TG without backlog sales? Go check again. The 2 TG volumes didn't sell 1,962,722, but 1,351,025, meaning the rest is backlog sales. Also OP includes backlog sales. Haikyuu had 3 vols.

ChocoBar9: Why are you bringing up Neverland? Did I say something about it? I don't really care which series is more popular, don't care which sells more. Don't go bringing that up to me. I commented on his lame "levels". In which case 300k is below average, which is news for me. And there is something you also forget. All of those series include backlog sales on that list, its just that BC backlog sales were bigger during that period (for obvious reasons). Which again it doesn't matter, those are sales and the last 6 months show that BC manga was one of the top 10 most selling manga series, yet it "below average" in popularity according to him. That was I mocking. I didn't say BC sales per volume more than TG or OPM, but showed him that the manga in that period sold more (TG also had new anime in that period). So a series ends in top 10, but it's below average, sure.

OPM had reach a sales peak of 900k during that time period and Tokyo Ghoul was a million seller all the backlog did was give them a crazy lead and wasn't the entire foundation of their placement since they were already top sellers.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ochako but if Saguri's design was used instead, I would have loved her 50x more and immediately made her my top waifu.

One Piece had one volume. Tokyo Ghoul, OPM, Attack On Titan had two. Black Clover's backlog is only "big" because it just had its anime boost in October whereas Nanatsu and MHA already had their initial anime boost years prior. Anyone would think its below average after 3 years of shilling and the fact that its boost is actually lower than Food Wars. That's why the volume list exists to showcase how much each volume sold per average and what do you know Black Clover did sell lower than everything in the top 10 and only got elevated due to backlog And the reason why I bring up Neverland because its shows pitiful it is that a manga without an anime can still outside one with the boost meaning it would probably beaten it despite having 6 months worth of backlog.

Black Clover only sells 300k per volume, wow what a huge flop.
Yup, and that's just the latest volumes. The earlier have even more sales.
Same case as every title in that list:
714,734 Tokyo Ghoul:re 14
704,860 One-Punch Man 15
636,291 Tokyo Ghoul:re 15
582,772 One-Punch Man 16

~100k difference between volume. And it's not like they lost popularity, it just takes time for the volume to accumulate sales and earlier sales of OPM and TG per volume are bigger than those numbers. Same for BC if the latest vols have 300k, then earlier have even more. Yet it's below average. Because we all know that there are 100 series in Japan that sell more than 300k per volume (sarcasm).

It's not but compere it to Black Clover rival HeroAca that sell better than that without anime its pretty underwhelming.

Comparing BLack Clover to HeroAca is not a valid comparison. Both are at different stages in their lifetime.

Volumes 15 and 16 came out recently hence why their current sales aren't weighted but the ones that was released during the cut off period.

That sounds like a lot of execuses that doesn't carry much weight to them.

Are you guys going to say the same thing about MHA once Neverland blitzes ahead of it with just one cour? Wouldn't that be more pitiful considering MHA has the superior timeslot?

OP had 1 vol, which sold 2.3m, yet it's first with 3.1m = includes backlog sales. Data track sales from end of November, so the bigger boost in earlier October is lost of BC. TG also had anime in that period. But again, why am I discussing this? You are obviously missing what I'm saying. I'm not arguing that BC per volumes sells more than those titles. But as a manga as a whole it saw SOLID SALES in that period. Now, tell me what average popularity series see such sales in such time. Go on, I'm waiting.

The excuse to bring Neverland is shameful. No one asked for it, no one argued it, but you want to increase your e-penis. Go ahead.

You can continue talking "it's backlog sales" and again I will say: it's still sales. Yeah, next 6 months it wont' be 2m, probably 1m, but hell that's still above average. And that's what I'm arguing, but if you still haven't understood it by now, there is no helping it. Not gonna argue about stupid sales, unless you show me that 300k is below average.

edit: a lot of excuses? XD "BC backlog sales" sure does sound like excuses to me too.

edit2: "Volumes 15 and 16 came out recently" but the 2 BC voles that sold 300k, apperantly came out exactly on November 20, when the tracking started (sarcasm). Excuses again.

Why compere TPN and HeroAca? That like comparing HQ to MHA one is sports series and the other one is battle shonen thier not rival even little bit.

Backlog sales is irrelevant to OP because its 20 years old and the sales quota is across 80+ volumes so the measurement between them all is too small to say it makes much of a difference. The bulk of its sales during that time period came from the latest volume release

TG also had anime in that period. But again, why am I discussing this?
So what? Anime boost isn't guarantee through subsequent seasons/sequels (see Food Wars) they're suppose to be a rarity not a guarantee.

You are obviously missing what I'm saying. I'm not arguing that BC per volumes sells more than those titles. But as a manga as a whole it saw SOLID SALES in that period. Now, tell me what average popularity series see such sales in such time. Go on, I'm waiting.
According to you because you have to ignore every factor against it to make it seem impressive.

The excuse to bring Neverland is shameful. No one asked for it, no one argued it, but you want to increase your e-penis. Go ahead.
Because apparently it triggers BC fans like you who can't accept the fact that there was a 60k gap between Neverland overtaking BC without an anime. What's more embrassing is that Neverland had a bigger boost in 3 months than what Black Clover had in 6 months

197804 約束のネバーランド 1 1612 (Neverland)

Bringing up backlog sales is worthless if there's not a sustainable growth. Toriko and Souma had backlog sales that elevated them to the top 10 but once the boost wore off they fell hard . I mean how low your standards can get?

Kimetsu's first episode would have to be AoT/TG episode 1 level if Shueisha wants it to get huge boost in manga sales. I don't think it'll be possible otherwisr in a late night slot.
I don't think it does. I have a feeling that kimetsu will get it's boost from the fujos.

If Kimetsu is truly as Online Popular in JPN as some have posted, then it seems doubtful it will get a lasting or relavant boost once the anime comes since all these online participants clearly havent translated in manga sales. They havent been doing a good job with word of mouth for the series suggesting there is something wrong with the content that prevents it from having mass market appeal. It seems doubtful the anime will overcome these same issues.
