amount of twitter followers the official series account has, the number of tweets it gets each week compared to it, the number of fanart it gets compared to it, or the number of likes and retweets on any tweet on Kimetsu’s official account gets compared to BC.
None of those are on platforms that are truly exclusive to JPN or JPN users. Also fanart runs the issue of where are you looking, I guess if you limited to one platform, but as whole theres no way to measure (I guess we can limit to doujin circle presence perhaps, but I dont think the last tally had either series on them)

Fanart issues are like foodwars on only pixiv crossed 4800 but world trigger is at 19000, so the conclusion would be World Trigger is more popular than Food Wars but I think no one would actually reach that conclusion based on other data. Bonus, Kimetsu no yaiba is at 3770 as of just now, so it should eclipse Food Wars soon while BLack Clover is 734.

BC's manga popularity is bigger...for now :cheez

Kimetsu's online popularity is huge even before it's anime announcement. It had like 30k follower and like BanzaiMang mentioned it had more tweets. Kimetsu before the anime announcement has a lot of cosplays which is pretty rare to see.

except we only get sales for physical volumes. For all we know KnY gets 80% of it's sales digitally meaning it actually sells much better than we think.
We actually do have digital numbers for Kimetsu.
Kimetsu no Yaiba (Print + digital) in World : 2 500 000.
Sales outside Japan were negligible and the physical oricon sales are about 2 million (that's if we're being generous).
So it's about 20% digital. For the record, that's absurdly high.

Awesome, evidence that refutes the fiction of it having 80% digital sales. Thusly, further suggesting that Kimetsu's *perceived* popularity is from sources who arent actively engaged in reading or purchasing the content. Need I remind people that BLack Clover has more than 2mln in just the half year sales of print since nov 2017. Let that sink in.

Kimetsu has more online popularity in Japan than Black Clover, whether you’re using the amount of twitter followers the official series account has, the number of tweets it gets each week compared to it, the number of fanart it gets compared to it, or the number of likes and retweets on any tweet on Kimetsu’s official account gets compared to BC. It’s plain obvious.
It’s mostly because Kimetsu’s audience is different to BC’s (Kimetsu having an older one than BC, which we’ve heard is mainly made up of kids) and more passionate about it.
As of actual manga sales popularity, BC is bigger (but comparing them now is dumb when one has an airing anime and the other doesn’t)
It's also more discussed on 2ch too, there have been 47 threads of Black Clover main discussion while Kimetsu is already on thread number 153 (that without counting spoiler threads where Kimetsu sits at 50 while black cover has only 18).

It has the potential to be.

Theres so many things that Tabata does so much better than Oda, that its so unfair that Tabata doesnt have all the manga and literary awards coming his way.

Disclaimer: I am a one piece fan.

please reread my post where I said 80 was just a number and I never claimed it to sell 80% digitally.

If you only count the west, sure, people most talk to shit on it (mainly in the anime because those are anime fans, they don't care about manga). In Japan though, where it matters, I don't think this is true with how the manga is doing. It's the Toriko of this generation but it's definitely a success on it's own and popular.
The post with more sense that I have read so far.

Calculating popularity via anything other than cold, hard sales is dumb. I mean, Neverland volume 9 is outselling OP volume 89 on Amazon JP, but that just means that Neverland's audience is more likely to buy manga online than OP's since OP is above Neverland in Bunkyodo and we all know it will sell more in Shoseki and Oricon.

I can't take it anymore..

someone kill me....
I tried semi-trolling with broken logic and got a good response, only sales matter as a metric for popularity and I agree.
BC is popular but not above avarage level. Once the animes of Kimetsu and Neverland start, all hell will break loose here, I just hope we will get another now good manga to spice things up.

Kimetsu's first episode would have to be AoT/TG episode 1 level if Shueisha wants it to get huge boost in manga sales. I don't think it'll be possible otherwisr in a late night slot.

I'm not sure what Ziga wants to do. It may be because I began skimming the chapters after a while but now its become a sort of weird suicide mission to defeat all the other Kaijuu weapons in this organization. Before it started out like Godzilla AoT and then brought in World Trigger-like influences with Psycho-Pass' dominator. Now its a battle royale like series? I should re-read it more carefully but its not able to keep my interest. There are some find twists in the story like what happened this latest chapter but its not enough to make me seriously read it.

Robo on the other hand has my interest but its too slow. Fujimaki keeps on adding in dialogue taking away from some of the heat. On one hand its like he knows he won't be cancelled since he wouldn't go at this 1-2 chapters per hole pace if he was but it takes away too much. He's having difficulty in creating tension without covering a lot of holes though that may be something inherent for a golf manga.

Didn't know OPM & Tokyo Ghoul:re are below average too. So only 6 titles are above average. Ok. Learned something new today.

Why is it that you guys constantly ignore the fact that BC had about 13 volumes worth of backlog sales hence why it even made the top 10 despite the fact that volumes on average sell less than Neverland which doesn't even have an anime?

It enjoyed large backlog sales of all the volumes, one piece had only 1 volume released in that time frame and TG:re had 2 without backlog sales. Wanna see popular? Nanatsu's backlog with 2 volume releases and Haikyuu's with 1 volume and both with less volumes to reprint : https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2015-05-31/top-selling-manga-in-japan-by-series-2015/.88770
Would you have said then that Nanatsu overtook One piece?
