This video also doesn't offer anything informative its just an opinion piece really. Given the current state of Jump its unlikely that the ToC will ever be indicative of anything until Nakana resigns,

Watched it, nothing interesting, basically if you are following this thread you know pretty much everything in the video,

mildly informative to the people outside here though

I don't really understand the decision to make a list of the 'rankings' right after saying that their specific position in the TOC probably isn't reflective of their positions in the voting system/their popularity in the magazine. I know that SEW is trying to present it with a disclaimer almost, and that it might be illustrating the type of SJ that Nakano is trying to push, but people watching will take it literally again.

That said, it's a decent enough video. There are still flaws here and there, but it's a massive improvement over the last one. Again though, it's more of an opinion piece, which is perfectly fine. It's nothing new to us... but it's not aimed at us either.

idk Robo ending wasn't much of a surprise due to it being dead last in the ToC for so long and going by that TV thing it was axed not Fujimaki just deciding to end it. I think it's just more obvious now that it's not an exacting rating like everyone believes but simply "these series are doing well or we're pushing them and these series are doing poor".

I'll also add, that he didn't include sales this time around, like he could compiled the Jump series from the oricon yearly of 2017 and half-year of 2018, showing that along side the TOC would have been nice

There's a plethora of series that had worse rankings than Robo yet lasted for years on end either due to "acceptable" sales (Gintama, Saiki, Medaka Box) or it was deliberately placed at the bottom (Jaguar). Robo sold well enough to keep it running yet they decided not to which is ironic considering it was selling on par if not more than Kimetsu and Stone.

If he's really going to drive through that point that ranks aren't indicative of anything then he should at least include sales numbers alongside them. One thing about these Youtubers covering Jump is that they seem to push the notion that the ToC means everything which it really doesn't and while we know that's the case a lot of newcomers don't so when they say the ranks they're going to think that a series popularity is overblown or that since newer series are ranked higher it means they're more popular as a whole they really need to be more responsible with what information they put into the videos. Super Eyepatch Wolf knows this given how much shit he got for that Bleach video where fans called him out on his "half-truths" and spreading misinformation pushing it as evidence regardless of Bleach fall from grace it doesn't negate the fact it did continue to sell well during that period.

I'm not talking like I don't read scans, but it would have been better and more professional of him if he didn't use panels with watermark on them, with certain panels even indicating rips of official translations

That's another thing I disliked. For series that aren't getting official weekly translations like Kimetsu, Saiki, Gintama, etc. are perfectly understandably but using mangastream for Dr. Stone, MHA, Black Clover and One Piece when they all do weekly high quality translations is a tad unprofessional though it might just be because he didn't want to advocate ripping their scans versus doing a google image search but then again he used a picture for Go Nagai and called it Toriyama....

At the very least I’m happy to see that someone is covering the less popular series in Jump, and there’s a popular youtuber willing to cover the magazine as a whole, rather than just focusing on the major series for views

Won’t say any names, but I feel like a see a few ppl in this thread that don’t get that the ToC aren’t “rankings”

But Foreverworld has been shilling Kimetsu and Neverland constantly :cheez
In fact he was the one responsible for those series success in the US so we should thank him:derp

Jokes aside the only thing I get out of this video that I didn't already get from his twitter feed is that Super Eyepatch Wolf really likes Dr. Stone or rather likes the ideas behind rather than the execution. He didn't really go over much with Kimetsu or We Never Learn.

Personally I enjoy him highlighting the series. I didn’t really go into the vid expecting to learn much. I consider myself knowledgeable enough to say I understand what’s going on with the magazine and it’s series fairly well. I think the vid would be great for someone with absolutely no knowledge on Jump though.
I think it would have benefited from being maybe 10 minutes longer to go into more detail about Kimetsu No a Yaiba and We Never Learn. But I guess he just doesn’t keep up with them

And it doesn't even work as that since he doesn't go over all the series running in Jump extensively while also spreading misinformation. If this was a vid recommending people to go read TPN and Dr. Stone then it would be more accurate.

It was a fairly decent, but mostly superficial look at things. Dude really needs to improve his title pronunciation though :blink.

One thing about the video: as he said it would be interesting to see Jump 2018 first half ranking, is going to be interesting to see second half, since it seems Jujutsu is now top 3 of ToCs

I have no idea if it's his accent or he just didn't bother to try looking up how to pronounce half the thing he said
