Kind of off-topic, but what ever happened to the Gunjou no Magmel anime? All we've gotten so far is an announcement and a few staff members (director, script, composer). It's not even getting scanlated either.

For anyone interested, MHA game sold 75% of it's shipment in the first week.

-

During the week of August 20, My Hero: One’s Justice was the best-selling title of the week in Japan. According to Media Create data, between the Switch and PlayStation 4 versions, it sold roughly 40,000 copies.

Switch is actually where a majority of sales came from. Media Create has the Switch version at 24,626 copies sold while it moved 16,026 units on PlayStation 4.

Dengeki chimes in with some extra information as well. My Hero: One’s Justice managed to sell through 75% of its initial shipment. It also did better than the 3DS title My Hero Academia: Battle for All, which sold just over 5,000 copies in its first week and a bit of 30,000 copies in total.

:kappa Volume 1 and 2 of Yuragi had 300,000 copies in print.
Jujustu Kaisen print total: 250,000 copies for volumes 1&2

Its unknown if digital is included but this is quite good for the series.
24 volumes of New POT, so the series as a whole is over 70+ volumes:cookiestare

Question, did Shuiesha give number for Dr Stone or Act Age yet? I know they did for We Never Learn right? I hope Act Age won't be another Sesuji/HZ case where there are a loyal fanbases following and the series doesn't grow each volume.

Another thing i want to point out, you can't "print" digital copies so i don't know how they factor that into account. In theory you would have unlimited amount of digital copies, and for printed stuff print =/= sales. What i'm trying to get at is that 250,000 printed copies maybe 200,000 printed stuffs + 50,000 digital "sales". Again all speculation since i'm not sure how they factor it in.

This is the weird thing since series like Neverland and Robo included digital. That means they included digital downloads as like you said you don't "print" digital. This means they're mixing print total with estimated sales.

^ yeah that's what i come up with too, printed stuffs + digital sales.

It's big for a new author. It's on the right track to reach Robot x Laserbeam 460,000 printed copies by the third volume, and RxL was the biggest series from that Starting Six line up for the first couple volumes. Yuuna had 450,000 printed copies by the third volume.

It's also bigger than Kimetsu no Yaiba too when it first debut. If i remember correctly KnY didn't start to gain traction after like the 4~5 volumes (there is a chart in here somewhere)

Kimetsu only sold like ~15k at the very start. Jujutsu is starting off stronger, hoping that it will continue to grow.

Now let's hope that it doesn't plateau soon, but instead grow each volume.

Oh yeah, that's right. I remember that. Hopefully it'll continue to grow.. and I wonder if like KnY, the manga will get a boost because of a indication like it received from Togashi at the time which made it grow more on sales.

It wasn't just Togashi's recommendation but that's where the spider family arc started. In fact, I would give more credit to that arc causing the boost rather than the recommendation of Togashi.

Total vindication. And just a day ago people laughed at me for my claim that Jujutsu is positioned well for total success. Apologies are warranted. I'm waiting.

Has Otoko Ippiki manga got a reprint for Jump 50th anniversary?

I mean, the pocket edition (7 volumes, the first part until Motomiya decided to ended it firstly) has the 50th Jump anniversary logo. Thinking seriously in buying it (80€, yet I don't understand moonrunes).

Tweet from Ooishi Kouji (Author of Lycopene, Inumarudashi ect) thanking Gintama and Sorachi as it's about to end.

Some things I took out of the interview below:
-Gintama is about to end in the main magazine, so he wants to thank Sorachi for the big impact he’s had on Ooishi’s life as a mangaka.

-He wonders what makes an excellent manga. Some say popularity or sales, but he personally thinks it’s the condition of the manga and what you can learn from it.

-He wonders just how many people learnt new things and likely had their lives changed by some of Gin’s dialogue, or Sorachi’s comments.

-Eg, in a Oneshot called "Shirokuro" Sorachi published before Gintama’s serialisation, the main character had a line that said “You add soy sauce to Natto after you mix it”. The day after reading this, he added soy sauce to his natto after mixing it. He then realises that that was a crappy example and had nothing to do with Gintama lol.

-Even when he was still an unknown newcomer, Sorachi did a bunch for him like teasing him in Gintama (Volume 20), allowing him to read drafts, and getting a character that resembled Ooishi in the anime (Episode 135). Some even came to know about Ooishi through reading Gintama, and in particular, Sorachi’s mention of him during the Quick Japan interview which brought him to tears. Although he thinks it's an exaggeration to say he is who he is thanks to Sorachi despite this.

-Given how much Sorachi has teased him, they’ve only met 3-4 times, and they only really had a solid conversation one of those times.

-A story from 10 years ago: when returning from the wedding of Oonishi, his first editor that they both shared at the time, Sorachi said to Ooishi “Wanna get something to eat? I’ll treat you”. This was before Inumarudashi was serialised, and he didn’t know many other mangaka, so the fact that not just any mangaka, but a successful one took him out was a big deal.

-Not wanting to waste the chance, he intended to ask about what Sorachi thought was important as a creator, manga arcs, the secret to gags, ect. But in the end, Sorachi just had a nice chat with him. But he doesn’t remember much since it was over 10 years ago.

-HOWEVER, there was just ONE thing he never forgot. One thing he would always remember. They ended up splitting the bill.

I also went and looked up the references for those interested:

Volume 20: Maison du Auk is a reference to Ooishi’s first manga, Maison du Penguin, which ran for 62 chapters in 2006-07
http://prntscr.com/kq2axn

Ep 135: The “Oo” in Ooishi means “big”, so they’ve replaced it with the sound for “small” being “Ko”, hence Koishi. They also did the same with their editor, who is called "Konishi" in the episode.
