Actually with how well the new SD manga volumes are selling, it's strongly suggested and highly implied that an anime would be a massive success.

BTW wanted to ask, do you know Play Ball manga? Is surprising how despite being the big Jump spokon of 70s, nobody ever remembers it in 2018. Despite Play Ball 2 happening right now in Ultra Jump.

Grand Jump. And it still gets a lot of chat in Japan, Akio Chiba is a bit of a legend between Play Ball and Captain, and the continued relevance of him through Play Ball 2 doesn’t hurt, shifting more physical copies than.... most GJ comics.
His brother’s popularity keeps the surname in the national memory too, natch.

I do know it, tried to read few pages of it in old bookstore in Japan but the font is so tiny and couldn't read the furigana (suck at kanji reading).

The manga is not translated the anime came out 30+ years after the manga, also no subs for that so it's not surprising nobody talks about it. His other series "Captain" serialized in Monthly Shounen Jump was more popular in Japan and even got anime just 4 years after ending, it shares same characters as Play Ball.

Is a pity Play Ball is the only Jump 2000s anime with no subs. And surprising thinking how baseball is loved in USA.

So, Play Ball is still popular in Japan. Makes me happy, that way the manga continues. Hoping the same happens to other titles like Otoko Ippiki (is happening) or Koya no Shonen Isamu or Circuit no Okami (is not so happening).

I have HxH fatigue honestly, and I've been reading it for a long time now. There just isn't enough in each tiny reincarnation of the series to keep me hooked. One Piece will end before this arc does.

Possibly quite a bit seeing as the damage from that typhoon was huge. At the least we might see some lower sales even with a 6 day first week. I think it'll even out as the month goes on though.
