SSS Gridman makes me so mad that Ziga didnt last. Ziga would have been such an epic anime.

Why does Cygames have an anime fund? I figures that would only be for, you know, products from their own games.

Perhaps its the same reason they pay for Christiano Ronaldo sama/Juventus...because they can.

They are involved in many other anime outside of the ones based on their own games. For example, everything they funded so far in the committee system:

Eccentric Family S2: PA Works, DMM, Yomuri Television Enterprise, Cygames, Lantis, Docomo Anime Store, KBS Kyoto, Good Smile Company
Granblue Fantasy:Aniplex, Cygames
Made in Abyss: Kadokawa - Media Factory, Cygames, Takeshobo, Kinema Citrus, AT-X, Sony Music Communications, Kanetsu Investment, Global Solutions, Kadokawa Media House
Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles: Children's Playground Entertainment, Crunchyroll/Sumimoto, Takeshobo, Flying Dog, AT-X, Avex Pictures, Cygames, Sotsu, Tokyo MX, Klockworx, Keio Agency
Umamusume: Cygames,Toho, Bandai Namco Arts, Kansai TV
Run in the Wild: Toho, NTV, Production IG, Movic, Toys Factory, Cygames, Medialink Entertainment Limited, Yomuri Shinbun
Zombieland Saga: Avex Pictures, Cygames, CyberAgent, Mappa, AT-X

They also have their own studio called CygamesPictures which so far made one short for Blade Runner and will make a OVA for Bahamut.

Going by Shoseki, looks like there's not even a little boost for Hinomaru Zumou.

Why are we still here Hinomaru bros? Just to suffer?

Do they even have sales for the weekend? Even if they do while episode 1 was enjoyable it really wasn't "holy crap I need to go buy this manga right now!"

I still don't see why you expected someone to run out and buy the manga within a couple days of seeing episode 1

People expect that because it’s generally what happens. Neither Slime nor Goblin slayer had amazing first episodes either and most of their volumes have been in the top 50-100 since the day after they aired. Obviously you can’t conclude anything off one day of sales data, and those series are in a different league entirely so it’s not a fair comparison, but either way, no past HZ volumes in the top 500 is somewhat worriesome.

In many cases, if there’s no boost in the first few days, it’s not getting one.

looks like the last game in the Gyakuten Saiban trilogy is getting a manga adaptation in V Jump

speaking of GS, A-1 took 2 years after the first season and somehow the animation still looks like a power point presentation

>There is a serious lack of pages since RxL ended
>Let's ignore Jujutsu
>Well, RWBY will fill the gap

I'm mad.
they're also apparently ignoring Japan and David
they're also ignoring Black Clover spinoff despite them doing Vigilante

Luffy vs Katakuri keeps getting better and this week's OP episode was phenomenal. I highly recommend any OP manga reader to check it out. It really makes me more hyped for Jump festa.
the animation only hype for like the last 3 mins of the episode, the rest was the usual weekly "quality"
I thought the new opening was boring

Those were two big shows though. Most times I saw magazine polls they were up high so if Hinomaru is relying on word of mouth like people have said here no one would have really watched it yet unless it took Japan by storm and became an overnight sensation. That's more what I meant unless the ratings for it were super good I don't see why it was expected to get a boost within a couple days.

I dont know if it really opened up in such a way that'd really drive people to pursue more with that first episode, it was also pretty run of the mill take back my clubroom from the delinquent thing without any tease of potential new cute guys to join the club (compared to say last seasons Grandblue where it did tease Kohei joining and more).

I think next episode would make or break HZ since we'd probably get a glimpse of where its headed, what peoples goals are, and what the actual school is like.\\

Too early to say if it really wont resonante with people.

Well logically speaking, If it didn’t have an explosive first episode, then it’s unlikely that word of mouth will spread THAT much. And if the ppl watching it now don’t have interest in buying Volumes now, they’re less likely to buy when we start getting more episodes.

I’m not 100% but I’d imagine a big reason that you start seeing a boost in the first episodes or 2 is because ppl want to know what happens next right away.

It seems really likely that the ppl watching the show are the ppl who are already huge fans

I'd think the end would drive more people with "wow I want to see what happens with Hinomaru going pro" since we know it's ending with Part 1.

That all depends on how big the boost is within the season. Yes people do wait til the last episode, but it mostly happens gradually.

A large influx of people aren't going to say "Now time to buy 20+ volumes now that it's over". A lot of people that are interested in it will likely go out and buy a couple of volumes once they start, and as things go on gradually buy as the anime goes on.

In theory, if people were to wait until the end to buy, they would ONLY buy the more recent volumes, so they can pick up where the anime ended. leaving the earlier volumes with little to no boost. And I can't recall ever seeing that happen
