Don't forget there's still an empty slot in the magazine, unless they're planning to do another batch of 4 so soon after the last one (or 3 + keep a slot open for oneshots) TSS is most likely going to survive a batch longer than the other two flops.

I predict they will do a 4 round.

They won't do another 4 batch, batches above 3 are rare and the s8 batch was big because it was the special first batch of the new era. Having another so soon would take away from the specialness (even if 3 from it are flops and the other is a disappointment from a major creator).

Consider the last batch of more than 3 new series was the special batch of 6 2 years ago, and before that it was 2015. TSS and Yui Kamio both got special GIGA bonus chapters so they're clearly at least somewhat interesting in continuing to promote them.

Even if this happen, WSJ will likely need to wait to see if this 4 round will be better than TSS or Kamio Yui.

I doubt they want replace these with lower sellers.

I think this is an unusual situation where 2 veterans have ended recently, yet nothing properly replaced them, so it should force them to be more aggressive. We could easily see them going more passive like Tirakai said, guess we will see. The first batch of new era tag is now irrelevant since pretty much everyone forgot about that fact. Jump isn't exactly shy to admit failures (besides Bessatsu Shonen Magazine and Weekly Young Jump, though these 2 have bigger issues which forces that behavior).

Even if this happen, WSJ will likely need to wait to see if this 4 round will be better than TSS or Kamio Yui.

You mean 2? There is only Mitama and Yozakura.

You guys only talk about cancellation, be more positive! I think cloudy environment all the time made me stay away from here more time. Only read the series without any worry in the world is so great. :)
I only hope that Yui Kamio and Yozakura survive, no talks about cancellation.

So I checked out Mieruko-chan. It is similar, but a lot less cringy.

Kind of sad to think that Mitama Security would probably fare better if Mitama wasn't in it.

I think Mitama "normal" personality must be unbearable so that it magnifies the special one.
Since we are talking about Mitama I have to say some people said that it is for children so that's fine... Man, children really like such retarded series these days? It would be an offense if I were a child.

I miss GIO so much that I’m not even sure if that was his name. It’s been so long since he’s banned
Do you mean GIA? Was he here? From what I know from his Edited Manga, he is unbearable.
Kimetsu cover yet again. I mean, I love the manga and all but I really wanted Yunna, Act-Age or Jujutsu since they only have one (worse for yunna, which has half as it divided with WNL)
There wasn't a parents backlash on Yuuna second cover? That might be why the magazine doesn't give the cover to the series that much.

I think it was not on the cover as far as I remember, it was in the lead cp where, let's say, Miura Tadahiro went a bit too far for a magazine for children and teens. :3c

Mess! I deleted it now, thanks. It wasn't posted by Yonkou but was in Japanese, so I thought it was real (issue coming earlier this week etc.)
Also thanks for calling me "the good guy on Discord"! Same can be said for you. :)

Yup, we are all waiting for it haha. Made it to mess up a bit in the WSJ server since we usually post every fake we find, but didn't expect for it to reach there lmao.

I wonder guys after all that tall about sales., how do authors get their salaries devived?. I mean as oda, he is swimming in money. But for someone like yuuna, he must getting average?. How much do newby authors gets when their manga are axed
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

I think TSS can stick longer since there is no reason to axed it from so many free spots cuz beast and taisei are guarenteed axed. Also next batch begins till December so no reason to rush things in jump schedule
Well comic book artist typically don’t get paid much.
In America, on average, comic artist only make about $20,000 year.
I’ve seen manga artist talk about having second jobs and stuff, so I’d imagine that u less they hit it big, a manga artist pay is similar. They likely don’t make much to begin with

I think that there's a big difference between a weekly mangaka (I assume we all saw Kubo's schedule) and an American comic book artist, though.

I'm sorry, I expressed myself badly.

As you had mentioned a possible future 4 round, I meant that even if this happened, they would still have to see their popularity (and sales) before replacing TSS or Kamio Yui.

Of course, the reception of Mitama or Yozakura will influence too.

Dunno how true it is but i read somewhere that mangaka get about 8% from first print and then smaller numbers from reprints and like $1200 per episode of an anime plus the wsj salary.

That's not how it works though. Jump always cancels the flops before starting a new batch. If 4 new series start then they would cancel Taisei, Beast and TSS beforehand. There is a limit to how many series can run simultaneously. They can't add 4 new series without cancelling a few

I think that there's a big difference between a weekly mangaka (I assume we all saw Kubo's schedule) and an American comic book artist, though.
Kubo is a successful artist and was likely getting paid extremely well.

We’ve seen interviews of axed artist(or more accurately, successful artist who talk about their past axed series). Some of them mentioning working on their manga while also working a part time job.

The American comic industry is different. But I can’t imagine the average manga artist is making a huge living. I’d imagine they are likely making around the same as the American industry($20K per year) or less.
The mainstays in the magazine are likely making a living, and enough to work on manga full time.
But the question was, how do these axed series creator’s make a living on their low volume sales. And I’m saying, they probably aren’t making very much to begin with.
