This Jump Force Open Beta is a joke.

1. Terrible times for western fans. Why are the servers only open at 4AM????

2. Delays for server opening.

3. After a 2 hour delay, the game is broken, so nobody is even able to play the game. All anyone can do is walk around the lobby.

4. Servers will still close at the same exact time, and Bandai will tell everyone “thank you for playing!” Despite nobody actually getting to play

Times are great for Europe/Middle East, but connection was awful in the first hour and I couldn't play. After 65 min' the game told me to play offline mode so for the last 2 hours I played for the first time tons of battles with all the characters available. BandaiNamco didn't fix the issue today had the same experience, while watching in Youtube some people could get the online mode to play fine.

Hope the PC final version will be fine...

Would they delay the game since the beta seems to suggest online performance was awful enough that they needed to cancel the other sessions.

Dai from Dragon Quest manga also will join the game. A very welcoming surprise.

Dragon Quest under Bandai... that's unique, a Square Enix in Bandai Namco game.

Dai inclusion makes me happy. THIS inclusion is the one that open some possibilities: now for first time I see Taikobou (Hoshin Engi) or Momotaroh (Sakigake Otokojuku) get a chance to join.

I still don't see Medaka or Oga joining. The reason people say are ''they have been in last Jump game'' and ''Medaka is a woman''. The reason I say they don't join: ALL titles (except Black Clover that I guess is because is currently running) are +20 million copies sellers. Medaka Box and Beelzebub haven't managed to sell more than 10 million copies (I recall both of them are even stuck in 5 million copies).

Yonkou is saying only 6 characters left for main roster (if his hints are true 3 of them are Tsuna, Koro-sensei and Dio). I'm going to be pissed if Toriko and Kinnikuman don't manage to join. Yonkou is also giving hints of a second Hero Academia character (this combined with Kenshiro in the very center of the new Jump Force pic with everybody makes me think that I'm also going to be pissed if Raoh doesn't join as DLC or something).

PD: Yonkou has been mentioning stuff of JoJo, Hero Academia, Reborn, etc all time, but is surprisingly very quiet about Toriko. I hope Toriko is in the game, he's the bridge between early 00s (Big 3, Reborn, Death Note) and 10s (AssClass, Hero Academia, Black Clover).

I'm happy that Dai is in the game. It's such a unique inclusion; like Ryo from City Hunter. I wish there were more of these. It's a real shame that the roster seems so top heavy. I understand that series like Dragon Ball, Naruto, and One Piece are huge, but I really wish the character slots were spread more evenly between series. J-Stars Victory Vs was not a good game, but I was at least totally behind the roster as it was much more fair to other series. And I liked the aesthetic in general compared to Jump Force. That's my opinion at least. Maybe this is just the result to trying to cater more towards a western audience.

Isn't that the one where freaking Medaka Kurokami and Kusuo Saiki were included as a playable character? I remember it had Chitoge Kirisaki as a support lmao

They play extremely safe and watch it backfired since the charm of a jump fighting game is the inclusion of unusual characters that the West don’t know about
Just look at past Jump fighting games series

If only 6 more is true that’s a terrible roster... This game really doesn’t have much going for it, does it? Gameplay doesn’t look much better than J Stars either tbh.

They seem to be almost entirely ignoring the Japanese side of things, which is just lost sales for them. With the current roster, they’d lose nothing by adding another 20 characters that aren’t known well out of Japan. I feel like this won’t sell well in Japan at all now, and relying entirely on the west for sales seems like an unecessary risk that might kill our chances for an actual good Jump game in the future.

Dont understand that reasoning, the west usually sells 4 to 5 times more copies than the jpn sales ever reach.

I never expected any of the less popular manga to be featured here (especially not any variation of D.Gray Man, Psi-nan, Medaka Box nor Toriko) as it was always about trying to make it global appealing, which means appealing to West, which means using only the most popular manga in West (Naruto-OP-DBall-YuGiOh-BC-MHA-JoJo-HXH-Bleach-Saint Seiya) They went with the most obvious choices and it makes me sad.

Honestly I even have fears Koro Sensei may not be in here. Assassination Classroom is not really that big in west. Though City Hunter somehow got to be here, so not all hope is lost.

They are also mostly missing on the potential of gaining new fans in the West for series that are still relatively unknown in the West. For example, the inclusion of Ness im Smash Bros. and Marth in Smash Bros. Melee helped to popularize Fire Emblem and EarthBound in the Western gaming community. Jump Force could've done that too for some series that are only big in Japan.
(Though, I guess, they at least have City Hunter for that, but there could've been more.)

Yeah, but you could use the J-Stars Victory argument that it did not help in growing the popularity of either AssClass, Medaka nor Saiki in West. So why would they do it again? Which is sad, but neither is exactly "battle shonen manga with lots of action and drama" West wants.

P.S. I just now noticed Gintama is a possible MIA from Jump Force too. What a pity.

Eh, a port of a fighting game one year and three months later just doesn't make the same impact as a game that was announced and is pushed in big gaming press conferences like the E3 reveal. Western release of J-Stars V just seemed like an afterthought in general.
