Last saiyuki's chapter was pretty good too. That said, I can't help but feel the series' direction would've been just a bit better if this chapter or the next ones segued into a timeskip.

I don’t think so, first pages of chapter one clearly preview something that’s supposed to happen in the future and Koharus still a kid

Huh, do they mean, before the serialization process, during the serialization process, or during the active release just now while the first chapters for the magazine were being worked on? In any case, does anyone know who the previous editor was?

Gokutei Higuma feels like it is going towards climax for the ending already. Not really surprised considering it managed to place lower than Ne0lation in the last TOC, but still.

Ne0lation has no signs of wrapping up, but will use the MC backstory card as did Higuma some chapters ago. Also an extremely boring chapter. Dropping this.

With a few minor changes, I think Last Suiyuki is definitely a winner and definitely makes me a fan. Maybe give the lead a male best friend of sorts, get the girl to be a bit more of an active fighter, and I think we'd have a really epic story on our hands.

Still would prefer Ne0 and Higuma to survive a bit more than it.

Sayuki is also my favorite thing. But I'm a bit biased as I love Journey of the west concepts.

Yep, just read the Ch 2 of Kamio Yui and this is one of the easiest drops of WSJ manga I had in the past year. Very dissapointed by Hiroshi Shiibashi since I am a fan of Nurarihyon and I also liked Illegal Rare. This cannot compare to either of these.

Sadly, it is in a very good position (and Saiyuki as well which I started to like a lot) unless it somehow really gets hated by the readers. For now, ne0lation and Gokutei Higuma are struggling big time, David-Kun is doing awful in sales, Souma is....Souma. And there is Hinomaru Zumou constantly lurking with it's erratic positions, low and stalled sales, and an anime which flopped big time.

Don't think the girl will be a fighter. By using words to try to fight things all she summons are more things to fight. I see the series ending with her dying or losing her powers.

Why that would be such a depressing sad ending that it would be so unlike 99.9% of JUMP mangas. How cruel of a storyteller are you

The whole point of the story is that her powers can end the world though. So either she loses her powers or dies. She can't learn to control her powers since it's other people that are the source of the fears. Unless asspull. Which if it is built up over a long time I guess I'm okay with.

All this discussion reminded me of the Mangaka of Fire Punch/Chainsawman, who did a one-shot similar to Saiyuki. https://mangadex.org/chapter/261315

Higuma definitely seems to be preparing for cancellation, it pretty much all but directly acknowledged it with that "I would have liked to wait another 10 years" line. I haven't seen someone be that direct about being cancelled since the last page of Keijo!!!!!!!! over in Sunday.

Higuma for me was the worst new serialization since Demon''s Plan or Red Sprite. Won't be sad to see it gone.

I actually quite dug Neo:lation so hopefully that duo comes back with something more focused that knows what kind of manga it wants to be.

With the positive sentiments about last saiyuki, jujutsu and etc, it looks pretty clear that all jump fans love exorcists and demon fighting alot. Higuma even has a wealth of positive sentiment.
