Who's missing the point? That's such simple story telling. Nobody is saying they dont understand why the MC is the way he is, at the same time there's nothing wrong with disliking the MC's motivations and finding it immature and boring. Once again theres tons of other characters in fiction who been through worse, also seeked emotional and physical love, and came out with plenty of more interesting and intricate goals. Can Denji develop them later of course, but as of right now there's nothing interesting about what's being done lol.
So, you're saying you want this MC to be like other MCs and not have a different personality. Stop comparing scenarios and personalities. Just because in some other manga one character came out from poverty and slavery with fantastic ideals and goals doesn't mean other characters from other series should as well.

The point this character can be related to and is likable for many is because his goals aren't far fetched as other MCs are like. There's no "I'm gonna save the world by being the most powerful person in it" goal.
Eating some bread (delicious food), getting a girl, playing stuff with her and falling asleep together is literally one of the most common goals humans (men and women) have out there.

You keep saying "I'm not knocking on your enjoyment" and then continue to point things out, which are again just your opinion, whilst indirectly shitting on the things that people clearly seem to enjoy.
I don't read CSM. I didn't like the puke thing. You don't see me shitting on it. Move on already instead of trying to prove a non-existent point.

Lol what? Yeah I totally asked for Denji to be like other MC's and not for him to develop more interesting goals. Totally dude. You're comment is hella pointless, but you're right I should probably move on because its clear that this shits never gonna end with some of you. Wish ppl kept the same mentality when they're the ones giving their opinion of other series and not the other way around.

"Other characters in fiction who been through worse, also seeked emotional and physical love, and came out with plenty of more interesting and intricate goals" implies something else entirely.
The thing about comparisons is that if you say A's ideals sucks because B,C,D have experienced similar stuff and have had better ideals, then you're indirectly implying A should have also had similar ideals as the other 3 because A went through same experiences.
At least stick to what you said instead of backtracking.

Other characters have come out with interesting goals and ambitions in similar situations, which I why I'm not satisfied with Denjis character and accepting him for who he is. Nowhere did I say he should develop in a specific way. I recognize his situation and I find how he is currently mediocre. I've stated this multiple times. Once again you're replying to me with pointless arguments. Yall are saying he's different because he's simple and I'm arguing that his simple mindset and goals are just boring and not that interesting. I'm not sure whats so controversial and wrong about what I'm saying. If YOU aprpeciate that and find it relatable thats fine, but its not some wild opinion to say that he himself can do better.

I wonder what's going to happen with I'm From Japan long term anyway.

Its sales are straight up horrendous but it's probably safe through Summer due to Tokyo government or whoever funding an anime, and by the end of Summer it'll have had enough time to do a chapter for every prefecture. I'm sure there's plenty of things to use in a second run of each prefecture but with those sales it's really not worth continuing past what's necessary. It only really needs to go to ch 47, I guess maybe it do an extra couple chapters +epilogue celebrating the whole country together as a big finale, finishing on ch 50 or something.

At any rate, if it doesn't end this time they might as well just let it go to ch 47 since it'll probably be about ch 40 by the time the next batch arrives, and at that point it'd feel a bit mean to let it go on for so long but cancel it so close to the finish.

Is Japan the worst selling series to last past ch 30? I know other magazines have had things with similar or worse sales lasting over a year but I can't imagine that from this magazine.
So if they let Japan do every prefecture out of OCD or whatever, who's gonna be the fourth to bite the dust after David? People thought Soma but apparently it doesn't look like it's ending in two chapters? I guess they can always move it to somewhere else or just have more series in the magazine for a while.

What's "controversial" is that you're comparing a MC from a series that's barely 22 chapters old to MCs from series that are probably many arcs in or completed. You're comparing his initial small goals and ideals to the bigger ones other MCs developed over time.

Compare them to some of the initial characters from some of the most famous MCs out there.
As an example - Naruto was a brat. He was a selfish, insolent brat who was whiny and showed no respect to anyone or the culture he was born in. He was born with more rights and things around him than the MC in CSM and yet he was the most annoying kid out there. His character didn't change in handful number of chapters. It changed over the due course of the series.
Naruto's growth from this brat to the Hokage is what made Naruto as a series resonate with many.

I disagree, unlike the denji Naruto did not have to sell parts of his body to survive.
no one is saying that naruto did not suffer, but the point is that the denji went through more difficulties than naruto, just look at the construction of world of the two works.
the world of chainsaw man is much dirtier and chaotic than Naruto's.

It's more like you agree but are furthering his point. Which I think is what you meant.

I find the "I'm too old for a certain type of comedy" argument to be ironically immature.
Comedy is entirely subjective and there are plenty of artists that deal with the extreme for atmospheric or black comedic purposes.
Last I checked Lucio Fulci's fan base wasn't comprised of pre-adolescents.

I wonder how David's author must feel if it does get cancelled in the next couple issues, the sales might've dropped between volumes but it's still, what 10x what Japan gets? None of the Japanese readers seems to like that series at all except apparently some Tokyo city government official.

10x? The sad thing is that they are not even that much far away...

okay Space Naruto is fun. But i don't like the fact that Kishimoto introduced like so many concepts in the first chapter.

I believe he said in an interview that he had to do that, so that subsequent chapters would be more streamlined.

Yeah I forgot everything and I have no clue what the battle system is. I also don't like how the kid got the bod with no effort, but the VR games stuff was a bit interesting. Sad that the cool looking samurai dude was just evil, I thought he'd be a more stoic Jiraiya.

Meh. No one "has" to do that if you know what I mean.

The first chapter of Samurai 8 felt really cluttered, both in the art style and the heavy exposition. It felt like a pretty run of the mill battle shonen opening, but it's probably going to last at least 2 years just because of all the promotion it's gotten so far. I expect we'll see some improvements though once the opening chapters are done, and the artist gets better with the illustrations with practice.

The recent chapter of Black Clover was pretty great, it's been tying together a lot of plot elements in a really satisfying way, though it really does feel like the end. There's probably going to be one more arc involving the diamond kingdom, maybe something involving the creation of another giant demon like the one from the opening of the series.

Having read now Chapter 1 of Samurai 8 with the professional TL, I honestly don't quite know to feel. I think it has massive potential, especially from some of the ideas discussed in Kishi's interviews, yet I'm not sure if the first chapter will satisfy anyone

Granted, part of that is the matter of build-up, which for the manga was frankly massive. Had it been just another out of the blue series, I likely would've been singing a different tune entirely.

It feels like the series is at its climax. I know there's the diamond kingdom or how Tabata has stated he wants the series to last for very long but I just can't see how any of the next arc could live up to this one. The current villain is like an endgame boss.
