He's a YouTuber, quite a beloved one, though whenever he talks about Jump he gets things horrendously wrong. Still a major influence on me as an essayist.
I strongly prefer early design in Bleach. I dont really get whatever Kubo was influenced by anime style or anime by his change of stlye. All I know that when I see latter designs I cant help but calling it hamsterland. Also it feels like his inking was better in the beginning and was getting sloper and sloper with the time. On the second, you can always google. I would say his bleach video is quite good. At least what he said about Kubo art is quite true in my option.
Ah okay. Not gonna google about him but nice to know.
I get that some find the older design to be more original. I do too. It had a sense of style and to me it seemed like something that would suit a fun, upbeat story. Also, I do think it complimented the early relationship between Ichigo and Rukia pretty well because their friendship was super fun, especially in the early bits.
With that said tho, the art was too rough and blocky to suit what Bleach became (tone-wise) after the first couple of arcs.
Personally think the art design was at it's best during end of SS arc and beginning of Arrancar Arc.
The washed out or sloppier inking might be just the poor Edited Manga work, assuming that's how you read or viewed the series
Edit- I always wanted to say this. That table tennis manga that was serialized last year(Fulldrive, I think) had art that reminded me of Bleach's early art.
