Same 4 days for the two, and at least when it comes to Jump stuff, July seems to be a more competitive month.

Oh no doubt there. But it outselling Higuma was to be expected knowing who was the mangaka behind Yui. Just like you said, both flops, but not disasters like ne0, David, Japan or Saiyuki.

I'm sorry if this is a little off-topic, but seeing this week's TOC, I must say something:

I followed Jump's series and TOCs closely and regularly some years ago (like 10 years?), then I've stopped accompanying it because it was a hurdle to search every Manga Editor for the lesser known series.

Now, with Mangaplus doing all the job for me, and because of this forums, I've started following Jump weekly again and I must say that it's such an enjoyable ride, specially when there's batch of new series... BUT, at the same time, it's so sad to see series which you like and root for flopping and being axed.

I had forgotten all these feelings and I must say I love it.
Also, that I'm learning a lot with you all, thanks!

I bet that it will have another big boost after the last episode of the anime.

Given the TOC, I think they may cancel 4 out of the newbies, with Samurai 8 and Double Taisei being the only ones to survive at the end of this round.
So, Souma spot will be filled with GFC, Zumo spot may be filled with HxH and 4 new series may start.

We could have a poll on this...

I guess that pretty much guarantees Yui will survive next batch, if it's getting a bangaihen in GIGA.

But Saiyuuki's mostly like done.

This probably confirms Saiyuki ends soon, as I assume this is a promotion of the 4th September volumes (TSS and Yui Vol 2 launch then, and Samurai 8 is that PUSH manga, so obviously it's there despite the October launch). Doesn't look great for Beast Children either.

It says Bangaihen, in Giga those generally are quick silly bonus chapters from what I remember (sometimes just little 4-koma gag strips), not a proper special chapter or like Gintama or Shokugeki moving there to (try to) end.
