Why is Mashima drawing the dragon quest manga?
Probably because Mashima has a big name, has the time because of his fast drawing speed and because he is passionate about video games iirc. He also did the monthly Monster Hunter Orage manga over ten years ago from May 2008 to June 2009 (two years after the start of Fairy Tail).

Well, passing this way also means that TSS can survive, and talei is not recovering.
It was obvious TSS would be staying. It does have a GFC co-winner as artist so they will likely give him some chance. The shortest of the manga that came out as a result of GFC, Metallica Metalluca and Himedol lasted 15 and 16 chapters, something Tokyo Shinobi is still very far away from. And both MM and Hime launched years and years ago when they were stricter.

Given the TOC, I think they may cancel 4 out of the newbies, with Samurai 8 and Double Taisei being the only ones to survive at the end of this round.
So, Souma spot will be filled with GFC, Zumo spot may be filled with HxH and 4 new series may start.

We could have a poll on this...
Double Taisei is higher in this chapter, but it is difficult to know if it is stable.

So far, I believe that Yui Kamio has the highest chance of survival between the five at the bottom. Although that can change.

Maybe @Buranchi could open a poll on how many series out of the current ones will go (not sure if you can make a specific multiple choices poll per 1 vote for separate series, but the first suggestion should suffice)?

This is useful! That said it strikes me as odd that tabletop gaming and acting lumped in with sports under the spokon thing but I guess it makes sense

Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa had 29 chapters for RomCom part.
I feel ActAge for spokon is stretching it, since the manga isn't exactly competition focused, unlike say, Souma.

Update: Also some smaller things like Shuudan and Cross Account-32, Cross Manage 43 etc.

I don't think Yu-Gi-Oh! should be considered a spokon, I think it qualifies more into a fantasy/battle series but overall, the lists are really good and informative. Thanks.

Takamasa Moue's new oneshot is called Ashi Morishima Galagtica

and it looks way too similar too Galaxy Gangs for my comfort
Takamasa Moue, as in Ole Golazo's one? Glad to see him back, I was worried he might have left the manga industry. Hopefully he will be able to get to serialize something on Jump or Jump+ in the next year.

Wonder if Jump is trying to test-run a space battle manga due to how big Astra has gotten.

Also, Yui and TSS surviving this serialization round is...interesting. Though the former is likely only getting some mercy because of the author.

There are rumors on 4ch that there is going to be a 3 series round post the group cover. Doubt it is any true, but wouldn't be surprised (technically that would mean Beast and Saiyuki would be out, with Hinomaru's spot 3, and oneshots as the 20th?).

No mo haikyuu, haikyuu and crying now keepo. Give me that super power sport manga
Isn't this more of a Shonen Sunday topic? The preview does look nice.

The problem is that we would still have two empty seats in the magazine.

How?

OUT Hinomaru, Souma, Beast, Saiyuki, IN NEW, NEW, NEW, Oneshots (including GFC).
16 ongoing plus 4 places=20.

But like I said, I don't think Shueisha will axe Beast this early. UNLESS they remove oneshots temporarily, end Saiyuki, bring 3 new series (20), and go with 20+GFC. Not sure if possible.

Fixed Hibari and kakero, but Tsubasa I think both my number and yours are incorrect.
Where do you find that was 356 chapter the run of Tsubasa in the magazine?

We know that the manga has a total of 37 volumes, this with the number of years that was published in the Jump (1981 - 1988) gives an approximate of more than 300 chapters; In addition, each chapter of the new system (the 114-chapter version) has more pages than usual; It probably isn't 356, but it's an approximate number.
