According to Oricon leaks from 5chan, the first volume of Kimetsu no Yaiba’s anime has managed to sell 11,594 copies in total (7349 blu-rays and 4245 DVDs). A very healthy start.

F-Ken was entertaining and quite the twist for a sports manga, as expected from Matsui, tho I do have to say I preferred his two other one shots over this one. If it does get serialized guess some details would need to be polished to make it work, other than that an enjoyable read

Do we know if Toriko was cancelled or the mangaka chose to finish it. People said bleach was cancelled but Tite Kubo said no one made him speed up and he chose to end it.

That Bleach quote isn't entirely accurate. He said that he was getting too sick to continue, so he wanted to end it before he became too ill to be a mangaka anymore.

As for Toriko, it's been all but confirmed. Sales kept declining, the anime ended terribly, the ToC rankings continued to fall. It's really decisions he made in the story that makes us believe it.

I doubt he chose to finish it. He had so much setup and did foreshadowing of arcs that were suppose to happen but got skipped. He got canned

But how low did the sales go exactly, surely it wasn't the worst selling manga in jump right? Why axe Toriko and not whatever series is doing the worst.

He outright says "I couldn't finish this the way I wanted" in the authors notes. Not to mention the final chapter is a giant exposition dump of all the cool ideas he had for the next saga which just...never happened.

It, combined with the generally uncertain tone of his sign off letter, honestly is pretty depressing. As I've detailed elsewhere, there are some pretty solid reasons why Toriko got thrown to the wolves by Jump as it went on, but I still feel really bad for Shimabukuro, who was clearly dedicated to do a story he was deeply passionate about only to get screwed over by Jump's editorial and readerbase.

I mean, the red side has One Piece, every other manga could be in blue and I would still choose it. But even disregarding that, I still prefer Neverland and Dr Stone (and Saiyuki, rip) to most of the other side. Losing Act-Age and Kimetsu would suck, though.

Blue. I only read 2 manga in Red; TPN and JJK. In Blue, I read MHA,CM, BC, KNY, Act-age, and I watch the HQ anime.
