Some random stuff I was thinking. Why is Hoshin Engi so minor?

I know is important in some way (Ore Collection promo, anime reboot). But merchandising and popularity-Wide, is really minor. It isn't even so old (1996 manga which was the main backup to Kenshin in the post-DB and pre-OP era), and it sold like +20 million print copies, but when you think in 90s Jump (without counting the 1990 titans) you think of Kenshin, Yu-gi-oh, Shaman King, Dragon Quest Dai no Daiboken, and sometimes Midori no Makibao and Sexy Commando.

Nube is the other title that suffers this. It sold as much as Assassination Classroom but more than NuBe 2 in Grand Jump, nobody reembers it.
Same thing with the mangaka's other work, Shiki. Lasted 11 volumes and had an anime, yet nobody is talking about this one.
Funny thing, I just picked up reading Waq Waq yesterday, finding it very meh and cliche. Not surprised it failed.

This seems disastrous for Yuuna compared to volume 15 which had 48k in 4 days ( just 1 day of a difference).
Yup, it was the first thing that came to my attention. What happened to it? It sold much less than what it normally does for FW sales.

General question, don't leaks tend to happen earlier for issues after breaks?

If so, when can we expect new information surrounding serializations and what-not?

yes, issues get shipped to the stores earlier following double issues breaks which lead to early leaks

however you're forgetting that last week the spoiler provider said he was going to stop

so when are we getting leaks depend on the new leaker (if there's any)

I heard count over was getting serlization with samurai 8 was coming. Did they pulled it back cuz of samurai 8?
fake leaks
also, stuff like this (mangaka pulling out because of competition) never happens

I don't really care about chapter spoilers, just news like the TOC and the next issue contents.

It was the TOCs, unfortunately. I guess we'll see.
The guy who posts the tocs on 5ch will stop because the store that sold the Jump in advance will close. So today is the last time he posts the toc.

I don't know if this has been already posted but I find it interesting.

I found these pics around, its come from the fanbook "Dragon Quest: Character Book", that contains some homages done by some mangakas from Jump.

Sorachi and Kazue Kato in the top image and Miura and Tsutsui in the bottom one.

It also contains a drawing done by Hiro Mashima and it seems that it's marketing the DQ manga that it will be on V-Jump, but I´m not sure in that.

There also should be comment from Inagaki but I suppose those is without art.

@redon do you know if My Hero Academia novels were coming to Spain, or it was only the Vigilantes spinoffs? I recall something about MHA Smash too, but dunno.

Meanwhile, Todoroki was yesterday Trending Topic at global level because this.

Between this, and the new about the guy who spent 5000€ in making Bakugou the winner of last poll, I have the sensation MHA is already consolidated as the big Jump shonen from this decade.

This time for the 8th day in a raw, instead of publishing a one shot by Fujimoto Tatsuki, Jump+ published the first chapter of Fire Punch and like all the one shots published before the first chapter comes with an interview of Fujimoto.
In the interview there is a pretty interesting part
Q: What did you feel when you finished the series?
A: When I'm doing a series is when I want to draw a oneshot and when I do a oneshot is when I want to do series... is what I realized once again. That's why that now that I'm currently serialized with "Chainsawman" I want to draw a oneshot (lol). To begin with I want to get the stories I think of out into the world as much as possible so, I want to draw a lot of works to compensate for my series not being that long.

That's only a rough translation of that part but I find that pretty interesting. I mean if he's allowed to do the same for Chainsawman as he did for Fire Punch we could expect the series to be less than 200 chapters, maybe between 100 to 150 or even less.

That's a possibility, but at the same time, I feel like what I recall being poor sales factored into him ending Fire Punch. If Chainsaw Man continues to sell even just as much as it has, I think he may be likely to let it run for a while.

I remember that Shiki ,with Dead Wonderland and Mirai Nikki ,were quite known in late 00s/early10s.
Nos Death Note's popular in the west but more popular than, for example, Neuro

Only Vigilantes for now, and probably another spin-offs will arrive too. But I won't bet for the novels.

No news about One Piece novel Ace in Spain, so I don't think MHA novels will arrive first lol

Don't think they're in any way related. One Piece's Ace's Novel was published in OP Magazine so they probably would need to bring the whole magazine here in order to publish it (unless there's an physical/digital edition of Ace's Novel only published that I don't know about). Also, Neverland's novel was licensed here.

EDIT: Just looked for it and found Ace's novel. But oh well, guess it depends on the publisher. Guess Planeta doesn't care that much about novels or spin-offs.
