Red Light District can be better in the anime for sure.
The praise mainly comes off from it being a Ufotable show tho. I do see people enjoying the characters and what not but a lot of the praise is for the animation.
I'm glad Kimetsu is doing good with non anime fans.
I like the manga but could not keep watching the anime since I thought producers would fix the slow pacing of initial chapters but they didn't, also I got really annoyed when Zenitsu appeared, since they made him even more obnoxious.
Edit: What scene caused the ruckus last week? Is it the spider arc adaptation?
Yeah, specifically the Hinokami (breath of flame) scene against the spider moon. It was beautiful visually, paced great, and the soundtrack during the scene added a strong impact too.
A lot of people watching anime don't really notice animation, art quality, and directing much (like how a good amount didn't notice much quality difference between OPM s1 and s2) but there was so much effort put into making it a distinct and impactful moment that it was impossible not to notice even for the most animation-illiterate.
All it takes is one popular outlier to change a trend.
I’m aware Rascal is a light novel though.

My problem with harems is
1. They’re so ridiculously unrealistic that I get taken out of them. A male main character who who has anywhere from 5 to 10 beautiful woman who are all obsessed with him and want him.
2. Once you’ve read one in completion, all of them start to feel exactly the same. And more than likely the “winner” is easy to predict.
Watching someone pick the other 9 girls who obviously won’t win is like watching those weird MHA stans who unironically ship Ochako and Bakugo together, when the obligatory “Ochako and Deku Bonus Wedding Chapter” is probably already storyboarded 6 years in advance
You think it's possible for Kimetsu to be this year's #1 highest selling manga due to the huge backlog sales?
OP and Titan are big hurdles to overcome for sure but all volumes have either been in the top 50 or just out of it I think every week since near the start.
The bizarre week continues. First time in years (without counting the S8 w1) that One Piece isn't the first released scanlated manga. Wtf is even first time ever MHA is the first released scanlated manga.

Ofc they do. No one said they didn't. But it's not something they utilize every fucking comedy sequence unlike others. Gintama and Saiki are really smart with how they execute a lot of their jokes.
Edit - Also, I'm fairly certain that when people mean "perverted humor" they mean shit like "Oh the MC trips outta nowhere and falls on the girl's breasts in an awkwardly suggestive position for the 10 millionth time"

Kimetsu has a huge handicap: it wasn't in the top 10 in 2019 1st half. Going from place 11 or 12 to place 3 would be huge, but I'm seeing Kimetsu ending 6th or 7th because that handicap.
What about David Pro and IG? People praise Jojo and Haikyu. In fact outside of OPM and HxH I can't think of any modern Madhouse stuff to be praised or that I'd consider all that good.

At what point does Kimetsu backlog slow down tho? This feels like something you'd expect for a manga from a much smaller magazine. Kingdom as well is just pumping out 100 k in backlog weekly, at some point that has to come down significantly no?
Nah Madhouse ruined HxH 2011. Coloring, pacing, tone. At least some single episodes are the best I've seen but the majority of it is so bad compared to the manga or 1999. And Madhouse is going down the drain too. Bones got really lazy for MHA S3. But I'm hoping they do a Mob Psycho-level adaptation for Chainsawman.
And if only World Trigger got Ufotable...
Black Clover! Really interesting developments, I sincerely hope it continues for quite a while in Jump.
Good question. As long as it's enjoyable I think it's fine. Some series take themselves too seriously and I think that's when reader fatigue sets in. At least some comedic relief characters or "filler arcs" need to be spaced in once in a while.
Chainsawman is the best "edgy" manga I've ever read in Jump and if you analyze what makes it so enjoyable I think it has a lot other series can learn from.
