Random, but after Neverland ends, I sorta hope that Posuka starts getting request to provide character designs for anime and games.
I hope the Neverland Duo eventually do another manga together, kinda like Ohba and Obata are always making a new manga after a while

With AoT 29 and HxH 36 performance, looks like OP is the only manga left that can do 1 or more mil physical in a month

Honestly, they pretty much are the Ohba & Obata duo of this generation given that their series is like the Death Note of this generation. A cult hit that's not as wide-reaching and mainstream as the giants of their era, but well-known enough by casual fans that they have an idea of what it's about/or at least heard of it.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go duck into my trench for the inevitable onslaught from here on. :hi

Just having read the latest Mone-san no Majime Sugiru no Tsukaikata's chapter on Jump+. It's ending on Sept 12/13 (depending on timezones) after 74 chapters and 2 years of a serialization. Interesting timing for a Edited Manga to start. Eighth and final volume to release next month.

Perhaps that's what prompted it, it can be nice to have a set number in mind so you always feel you're making progress towards an endpoint.

Wait, when did MHA reach 24 million copies? The last time I checked, it had 23 million when the trailer for Heroes Rising came out.

Also, I'm glad Mone-san's getting scanlated.Been emaning to read that.

New poll is up.
Why can't we prefer series over 1000 chapters?

It doesn't matter if you see potential or not. People in WSJ should see some potential in these mangas.
It might not matter to the magazine, but what's wrong with sharing our views on the issue? Are we not allowed to give opinions here?

Isn't Kochikame the only Jump series to break 1000 chapters? Not sure where that preference for Jump series being over 1000 chapters would come from if 1 exists and I doubt many people here have read it.

The question is "How long do you prefer Jump series to be?", not "How long is your favourite series?"

If I could choose, I'd prefer my favourite series to go over a 1000 chapters, so that's my answer.

Do you read the topic we were discussing at that point? We were not discussing if you can give your opinions or not.

Rain Spectre said WSJ was realizing a worse job this year than the previous year, because he doesn't see the potential in the recent batch of the magazine. He compared this with a batch in the previous year, because he see more potential in that batch (although tree out of five were still failures in that batch)

I told him that, even if he doesn't see potentital in the recent batch, it doesn't matter (and doesn't mean the magazine is doing a worse job this year). The magazine still should see some potential to pick these mangas.

Anyway, my main point is that the magazine isn't really realizing a worse job than the previous year. It is that sometimes things just don't work.

So, any estimates as to when Taisei and Beast arrive on the chopping block?

Yes, I read the discussion, and I understand the point you are trying to make. Still, when someone says "I can't see what Jump saw in the March-May serializations that made them so worthy to be jump-started", they are expressing an opinion; and when you reply to that with "It doesn't matter if you see potential or not", it sounds like you are telling them that their opinion doesn't matter and they should just shut up.

That's how it came across to me, at least. Maybe it was just bad phrasing.

I feel like Jump might be a little short on new series right now. They just started two, and now they're doing bonus chapters and one-shots to fill out the magazine (which isn't abnormal, but wouldn't be necessary if they had a bunch of good newbies up and ready to go).

It's possible that they are just waiting for the next batch of series to get ready for publication, so it might take a few more weeks. I don't see either of them getting past chapter 25 though, even when I'm being generous.

So, which sucessful Jump manga you guys think had the most "axe fodder" vibe in its first chapters?
For the ones I have read, probably JoJo. I don't know how it survived its first part. I love the series, but that first year is terrible to me and completely uninteresting after Zeppeli is introduced.

This is a really neat question!

Ironically, Naruto had a really slow start. I feel like if it started in 2019, there'd be several people in this thread saying that it wouldn't last the year. It's kind of funny to think about.
