Nope, per first month volume sales MHA isnt even in the top 3

1. Assassination Classroom (845k)
2. Haikyu!! (776k)
3. Kimetsu no Yaiba (734k)
4. My Hero Academia (592k)

(If you include the first 5 weeks instead of 4, Kimetsu is ahead of HQ)
I think there's a decent chance KnY climbs to first place next month.

I'm genuinely not sure whether or not you're kidding, but chances are that this news actually means the opposite. Shueisha doesn't really raise the price of manga volumes if the manga is more popular ; they DO raise the price of a manga volume if it has more pages than usual.

That means (judging from the price difference between TSS and Taisei/BC) that Tokyo Shinobi Squad Volume 3 has one chapter more than it's supposed to, and Double Taisei and Beast Children have two chapters more than usual. Why would the volumes have extra chapters? ... The most likely answer would be that all three series are getting cancelled before they make it to Volume 4.

In fact, we can possibly even pinpoint when each series is getting axed. Volume 3 of a series usually has up to Chapter 25. That means Double Taisei and Beast Children's last chapter is Chapter 27, and Tokyo Shinobi Squad's last chapter is Chapter 26. That means that, theoretically, Double Taisei could be ending in Issue 52, and Tokyo Shinobi Squad and Beast Children could be ending simultaneously in Issue 1 2020.

So uh. I might temper your hopes for an anime.
Taisei lives until Issue 1 at minimum per MangaPlus IDs.

As an info, TSS, Taisei and BC had all 460 yen Vol 2s that were upped from regular 440 yen (with 10, 9 and 9 chapters respectively). And on the other side Yui Vol 2 also had 9 chapters with a regular price. So it is inconsistent.

Though Taisei and BChildren upped the price even more for Vol 3, which suggests that something is happening/preparing for them to end, either Vol 3 or Vol 4. For example, Arata Primal also upped the price from 600 to 630 yen around early October (so before it ended) for what is going to become the fourth and final volume now.

Taisei and BC Vol 3 are also the most expensive volumes of a Shonen Jump manga since....no idea. None of the other 2019 newbies had this before, and veterans/established manga get the usual 440 yen price, even One Piece.

IMO it's been lacking another pillar(s) to support it kinda like back when BLEACH/Naruto/One Piece were running together.

You could say MHA was/is the closest Battle manga to being a pillar in the entire decade.

Other battle manga from this decade like Boruto, Black Clover, World Trigger are medium sized successes, all these with long running anime.

i think it's actually the opposite, Jump has had enough successes in other categories over the decade:
Slice of life (Assassination Classroom)
Suspense (Promised Neverland), Sport (Haikyuu/Kuroko)
Ecchi/Romcom (You can't expect a Romcom to sell as much as other manga, but WSJ has had popular romcom. It currently has two Romcom running -both with anime adaptations-, also wasn't there a time where Niskeoi, Yuna and We can't learn ran at the same time? I'm asking, because I think they ran together at some point..
Edit: Just checked out, they didn't run together but We never learned started like less than a year before Nisekoi ending... So pretty much 3 straight romcom success for Jump.

of course all these Romcom don't compare to the Quintuplets sales (I think, Nisekoi probably did?) but you can't win all battles..)

So in pretty much all fronts Jump has had huge success, but not in the battle manga department (other than MHA), so it's great Kimetsu no Yaiba Is selling as well as it is, and that's why I doubt it will end in this so called "final battle"...

But I could be wrong of course, but then again I have read tons of battle manga (especially Jump battle manga) where the series stayed in its final battle for like 15+ volumes lol.

Surprised there are still folks who dont have hero aca 1, but I assume it is on heavy discount at this point in time.

Do believe its too late in Kimetsu lifetime for it to reach the top 5 or 10% of best selling jump series.

Love Rush failed in between Yuuna and We Never Learn starting (it started an issue or two after Nisekoi ended)

I know this is just silly, but it could be an interesting calculation to make. What percentage of Jump series managed at some point to sell 700K+ a month for one volume? And 1M+? 500K+? 100K+? Probably a very tiny fraction considering every year there like 7 or so flops minimum.

January. Would make a good promotion to have 2 volumes, maybe anime announcement and some special event at Festa. They can boost the series if they make it right.

In all honesty, even if I think it's good to have as much info as possible, I still consider these poll just don't have enough representation or diversity in order to know how does popularity actually work in Japan. And whenever I see them on Twitter, people just misunderstand them and state random stuff with them as some kind of proof instead of using them as relative data.
You right, espcially with series like yui and taisei being that high. It's just like whatever..

Nah, ne0 vs Gevaudan aka Mind Games: The Chapter. Now that I glance over it again, the chapter art was top notch as well.
The artstyle was really attractive, it really shows he just needs more experience ;')

No way is AC a slice of life manga. It's an adventure, science fiction manga that is a LOT closer to battle manga than slice of life.

I'm fairly certain that WSJ editor would've tried convincing the mangaka to extend KnY in various manner but ultimately it would be upto the mangaka to decide when it ends. And they have been vocal about ending it the way they intended it. So no reason to assume it'll go any other way.

Bleach never seemed like it would end because just as Rukia's thing was going on, the main twist's plot was going on. It's not Kubo threw that in outta nowhere. He simply connected those two plots which allowed him to extend the series. I'm not caught up on KnY but unless something like that is going on, I don't see it getting extended.

^ Jump is definitely sweating at all that.

Though I can see Kimetsu lasting until late 2020.
I don't. Late 2020 is hella draggy, no great way to end it. I bet atleast till MID 2020

Ass Class is a sci-fi cool teacher drama.

There's enough series about a cool/unique teacher helping out their various students with their problems that it's really a genre of its own. GTO and Gokusen being tow of the bigger well known ones, though there's plenty of others. Even WSJ has had others before (Hokenshitsu no Shinigami, Nube to an extent).

Nope, but it might soon with a batch of reprints going out this week and another two scheduled for December.
Not to mention Vol 18 releases in Dec and will most likely have a first print very close to 1m

Actually it's already Too 10%, and very close to being in the Top 5% of Jump biggest sellers.

Jump has serialized 692 (as of November 19/2019 AKA until 2019) so to be too 10% it would need to be the top 70, for 5% Top 35.

IIRC to reach the top 35 series a manga would need around 20 million copies, so Kimetsu is definitely gonna reach the top 5% of Jump biggest sellers.

The question is how big can it get (if, like I predict, it doesn't finish in this arc) ?

I would say Top 3% is probably too soon to even guess, but if the series continues and doesn't lose popularity it could be a Top 3%

So are we getting a new series next issue? I remember WSJ was looking for an assistant to hire for a new "magic high school" series and the start date was listed as November 20th, iirc. Is there a chance we'll see a new series announced in issue #52, and then start in #1?

It is a date when the production/work on the new manga begins actually. Not sure how many chapters you must do before Ch.1 is out though.

It's almost impossible to extend this series without introducing a character like kaguya
