Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Moriking definitely hasn't secure its seat yet.
He was in third place in the first rank, if he falls on the botton I withdraw what I said.
But until that moment, it seems safe to me, yes.

I'm sure there will be a sports manga in the next editions. But the problem is in the acceptance of jump readers, because last year jump launched two sports manga (Beast children and Double taisei) and the two failed.
I do not criticize them for being more cautious.

And about the new round of serializations.

Jump launched a romance and fight manga (to replace yuuna) and 3 other comedies. The point is that Mashle and Moriking have already secured their seats. Mashle is selling 22k so far and Moriking got the 3rd place in the magazine in his first rank.
Seeing all this, will there still be space for the Tamura manga and the others.
Perhaps there is room for boku to roboko as Mitama is apparently near the end. However, I don't see room for Shakunetsu no Niraikinai and God of destruction, especially seeing Mashle and Moriking's reception. I think these manga are only there to serve as pillows for Ayakashi triangle, if it will be a success I don't know.
Yeah, I would definitely say Mashle is safe but Moriking still has its ways to go. A good start (which I’m happy about since I’ve been really enjoying Moriking) but that doesn’t mean it will automatically stay in as a result of one good ranking. Also, I would say for the most part, Undead Unluck is also safe.

Full 2nd week completed with day 14:

Yozakura Family:

Vol.1: #40 > #60 > #69 > #114 > #125 > #140 > #251 > #220 > #494 > #394 > Out
Vol.2: #47 > #63 > #145 > #57 > #109 > #214 > #260 > #368 > #349 > #367 > #411
Vol.3: #41 > #69 > #67 > #86 > #151 > #234 > #234 > Out > #434 > #354 > #333

Undead Unluck:

Vol.1: #29 > #65 > #194 > #54 > #113 > #109 > #254 > #375 > #455 > Out > #450
Vol.2: #25 > #59 > #70 > #154 > #120 > #121 > #188 > #356 > #376 > #320 > Out

Mashle:

Vol.1: #27 > #49 > #58 > #58 > #85 > #99 > #146 > #156 > #246 > #176 > #272
That Out of UU Vol.2 right after #320 feels so much like "whups, we are out of volumes to keep up the sales". I think they are really underprinting the new series and just go bit by bit weekly to not sit on many volumes not brought.

Mashle is going strong, good for it. Let's see what growth it will have for its 2nd volume.

Yozakura is going good as well, steadily increasing their sales volume by volume. Don't think it will see the axe for a year or more so, except it gets overtaken by other new releases and Jump decides to try another romcom manga that ain't Yozakura.

>look at the sales figures
Wait. Does this mean 20k club is back in business?
Congrat Mash for being the new 20k club leader.
Don't you mean 30k Club? I remember that one, can't remember a 20k club one.

The end of an Masterpiece that kept the identity of psychological Battle shonen, shows that you dont need super powers to enjoy a battle manga more than an series that DO have super powers. masterpiecefull 1st arc and goldypond being being the 2nd best. sadly the author lost inspiration for true phasings or even an arc how norman escaped.. atleast the mini maze of the 7 doors was cool and kept its identity for a little bit. but yeh.. really a wasted potential. i wonder how the anime will handle it after goldy pond

anyway thank you both posuka & kaiu for making this series possible, forever an rememberable series. gonna miss of having one of the greatest color pages and covers

Those week 2 numbers are nice, could be better always but nice. Mashle definitely here to stay. Hope Yozakura and Undead reach 20k by the end of the month, though probably unlikely for Yozakura.

Undead will definitely hit 20k within a month. Yozakura is a different story.

why is everyone doubting yozakura making it to 20k. Volume 2 had like 4000-5000 increase after its first 2 weeks for the month

If taking in count vol 2 reached 11k in 10 days and 15k in a month while vol 3 was almost 16k in 11 days, is very likely to reach at least 19k, unless everybody stop buying it from now for some reason

It'll reach 20k eventually. WIthin a month? That's debatable, which is everyone's point.

Seems like Yozakura vol.3 is getting out of stock again on Amazon, it says only 3 copies left, and vol.2 says only 12 copies left, it's the only series with this notes.

We will only be safe with yozakura when the jump gives a color page.

Already seeing some Ayakashi Triangle fanart popping up, doesn't mean much but nice to see at least. Definitely seems to be getting some interest from genre enthusiasts.

There's one fanart with almost 1k likes, that's impressive lol

I think is almost guaranteed that Ayakashi will sell at least decently, Yabuki is one of those authors that has a loyal following and also everything that he do gets attention, so unless the series turns out to be really terrible, i can't see this flopping at all.

We said the same thing about Kishi, and look what happened. Hell, I'd even go so far as to say that S8 had a better first chapter than AT did. Although, I admit that might not be a popular opinion.

counter argument is the sequel To Love Ru Darkness sells more than To Love Ru at launch (despite transfer to Jump SQ), now you can argue that it collides with Season 2 of To Love Ru, but its content is from the original To Love Ru, and not darkness content.
I would say Yabuki has a strong followers, like when World Trigger author come back

The other other argument is Yabuki followers also aged, so they might grow out of this type of content, so he would have to earn it with the current readers.

I'm talking this exactly about Kentaro Yabuki because he's a different case of Kishi, he's one of these authors that are in this industry for a long time while doing a lot of different stuff and being successful in most of the cases, which makes his identity more connected to his name and art instead to 1 big series, despite the real big name Kishi only did Naruto for his entire career and it didn't help that he wasn't even the artist for Samurai 8, which is more of a big deal than people think it is (Boruto also suffered from this).

Ayakashi Triangle is 100% Kentaro Yabuki like Edens Zero is 100% Mashima or MAO is 100% Rumiko and etc, which guarantees that the core fanbase will always be there in bigger numbers than if you divides you work in two people, which makes a series "less by you" in the eyes of some fans.

So if S8 had been drawn by Kishi, you think the series would have survived?

I don't think Kishi is really comparable here. Even if you exclusive TLRu (which I wouldn't based on how involved he seems in the creation) Yabuki has had Black Cat and Franxx earlier to grow on fan base for himself rather than for an individual series. Like Shinuki brought up with Takahashi and Mashima who have both grown their own fan bases rather than just fans of their series. Kishi only has done Naruto and some one-shots so I don't know how many people are Kishi fans rather than just Naruto fans that didn't care for his new series.
