I doubt stuff that were never close to their sales will get a movie

but then again Burn the Witch received one without a single volume out so who knows?

Black Clover's most recent OP was done by the group Snow Man, a popular idol group in Japan. The news caused the series to trend in a few places and people thought it would boost backlog a bit (which it really didn't, lol).

Toriko did get a movie. It performed average at best.

Nope. If they did, I doubt they would do well.
Dr. Stone since its growing, it depends on how much it grows in sales.

Kuroko made more or less one billion yen so I think Dr. Stone could make 0.5 billion yen or less cuz is way more less popular than Kuroko in Japan.

Black Clover is mainstream anime in Japan in sense that isn't late night anime and is market to mainstream/kids audience (someone correct me if I am wrong) so maybe Precure movie numbers 0.5 - 1 billion yen with one billion is highest bar.

Toriko received 2 movies actually lol. One before the anime was released and one in like 2013. Both were awful so I don't blame you for not remembering.

I wouldn't rule out WT just yet. The manga has reached new peaks and since Toei loves making movies, it's definitely a possibility.

Wouldn't call the one before the anime a movie tbh. It was less than 45 mins long. But yeah, 2013 one was a proper movie.

Kochikame having volumes from 30y ago getting reprints is the most random thing

I know these rankings are relative and all, but oof. I guess that temporary postponement of the axe might very well be temporary, after all. There's reprints coming soon, and who knows how much of this is due to the lockdown. Hopefully the series can survive for a third week.

Dont know exactly if you being pessimist but vol 2 had 3 days less than vol 1, the difference is 2,165, is basically the same total

I remember the short ones just fine and the 3d one with one piece just fine, i had no clue it received a full length theatrical release until now

Though seeing Kochikame getting reprints is unexpected. Any reason for this?

I'm guessing they were just running low? It's probably been a while since the last batch was printed, and I imagine Kochikame is sort of an 'eternal' series in Japan (like Dragon Ball in the West, you can still find it in most shops even after 20 years).

the story is pretty meh but the premise is medieval Arabia so it looks like Arabian nights/Alaadin/Magi which is rare and cool

if there is no consumers demand for a good/service then producers won't provide more of it

unless you're talking about BC lack of growth which is a discussion better fit to the BC section to prevent potential fanboys wars
