Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

This Friday we will know if they will extend the emergency until late May or June 7.

Could it be that Shueshia will delay the upcoming volumes again including the ones that will come out in June?

I mean, it would be the smart thing to do if Japanese people stop buying physical copies due to the pandemic.

However, Japanese buyers seems to stil buy a big amount of physical copies.
The point is, going full digital would discourage buyers, therefore flattening the curve even further. Potential buyers should also be given the option of ordering online as well if they want to buy the physical volumes for collection. Of course, the bookstores will obviously take a hit, but they'll get a decent compensation out of it, I hear. At least the ones in Tokyo.

Along with some short bonus chapters for all the newbies, this issue of Jump Giga had a preview of sorts for Time Paradox Ghost Writer:

Okay.....now I'm interested.

The same page, scanlated

This is giving me very good vibes, similar to when Neverland started serialization

Annabel Espada, from Norma Editorial (Kimetsu no Yaiba spanish publisher) "confirms" Kimetsu no Yaiba will end in May (04:22 in the video).

Someone asks them "How did you accept the news about Kimetsu no Yaiba will reach its climax in May?". She replies that Shueisha informed them about it 6 weeks ago, becouse Shueisha informs them about endings, hiatus, long chapters... with time. Norma Editorial does weekly spanish chapters of its series in MangaPlus so they need all the information Shueisha can send them to coordinate their work in the office.

She adds they didn't surprise about the news for the direction of last chapters, but they were surprised that Shueisha or mangaka didn't want to do another arc.

Aaaand it's over. It can end by the end this month with some extra stuff but due to the recent events, it was definitely going to end sooner than expected.

Also, very interesting how she explains how Shueisha works with them.

Guessing Neverland also ends in May. My main doubt are now Haikyuu and Yuuna-san

What are the series that have ended during its peak? (where there wasn't any downward trend within its popularity and sales).

The worst thing is that I feel KnY hasn't even reached its peak.

I think the main winner in Jump of Kimetsu ending (backlog will continue strong) is going to be My Hero Academia.

With Kimetsu, Neverland and Haikyuu all ending, My Hero Academia is going to become the only Jump series (not counting One Piece) with +200.000 copies per volume, and this time it will become the only Jump main hit of the magazine (again, not counting One Piece). Black Clover is dying, Jujutsu and Chainsawman still have to grow more and I don't see Dr.Stone doing numbers similar to Neverland-Haikyuu.

That's reality. Hopefully it can last till the day it ends. And let's see if the newbies can actually deliver and become TPN - MHA tier.

With bc, I feel it has an uncertain future.

it's being replaced by Time Paradox Ghost Writer. I guess unless TPN also ends but then one will be replaced by one-shots until Burn the Witch comes in a few months (I think they said summer)
