Trigger did inoubattle, a light novel series. I think if Jump and a production team wanted to, they could get Trigger to do a Jump adaptation.

It seems the app is overall the latest attempt from Nakano to try and get younger readers on Jump again. The app even restricts use for anyone over 18.

Also, you have to literally jump to unlock chapters, which makes this the absolute worst app for the kid with an injured leg.

This sounds extremely dumb. It might be fun for kids tho.

It's more that being in Jump+ comes with considerably fewer restrictions. Since there's fewer competition and no upper capacity limit on series, serialization only get the axe if their sales are really bad, and you have more room to built some kind of niche audience. The Jump+ authors who moved to the main mag have all been successful ones anyway (except Seiji Hayashi, whom I assume got the gig because of a gas leak in Shueisha).

Also, why do you mention Usuta? Man did two of the most popular gag manga in Jump history.

There's this and also the fact that it's a digital magazine so they don't have to censor many things (including nipples or sex scenes, world end harem is there after all), unlike WSJ which is mainly physical and it's why nipples aren't allowed there but only in volumes (and with sex, I guess due to the own magazine, since even other shonen ones have it) . And from what Nakano said, Jump+ also focus on more than what WSJ does. Either way, Jump+ is where everything that can't be on WSJ are, I guess. lol

I don't want Kubo back because his health issues make it unlikely he'd be able to sustain another serialization, and Kubo without his art would be meaningless.

Kubo probably will stop working on manga except on smaller things and only work as character designer, I think. He's already doing that as the character designer of the main characters of the new Sakura wars.

I can't explain it properly, but his artwork for bleach when he drew the character in casual designs had a sort of gang look to it. Aaaand he also drew Ichigo and the other soul reapers as highschool thugs a few times. It looks sick with his art

I can see what you mean. Those parts on the human world on the beginning were some of my favorites on Bleach. Kubo definitely could make a series about just that.

Everytime i see people here talking about Kubo i wonder if they did read his last interview in the Shonen Jump Exhibition book were he literally said that he wanted to publish Burn The Witch because he realised he loves drawing manga and can not stop doing it, and that he is not sick lol You guys treat Kubo as if he is a dying man, wth?

Hey, I mean, if he enjoys that, great for him. Toriyama is also still doing designs for Dragon Quest as well, it's a great way to utilize your artistic talent.

I heard a lot of mangaka end up as character designers later (especially ones with failed serializations).

I get where you're coming from with the "Kubo drawing a yankee manga" but overral Kubo's male character designs have the tendency of being much more "pretty" and bishounen than what you see in yankee/delinquent mangas differnt than Morita's designs that are more "realistic".

The character drawings in Dricam are kind of basic, but the skies look wonderful. The author really knows how to take advantage of the colour there. I hope they come back with something with even more beautiful backgrounds/landscapes.

The latest chapter of Curtain's Up was great as well. Nothing's been said yet, but the series isn't selling well and the story is well into the climax (of the arc and/or series), so this one might be ending soon, too. If that happens, I really hope the mangaka will also stick around because I like the character depth they put into the story.

Is it normal for Jump+ mangaka to stay with the magazine after finishing a series? Or is the service too young to have examples of this?

Sad. I love curtains up. Was actually afraid itd end long ago.

Beautiful artwork and character designs. I prefer it over act age.
