Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

There's still yankee manga doing well enough elsewhere, in Magazine and of course Champion has a few I think? I don't know if a pure one could do well in modern jump but an interesting genre mix like Rokudou no Onna-tachi being yankee harem over in Champion could probably work (if done well of course).

This could be interesting.

A means to legally watch older Jump titles (in the pic we see Hokuto no Ken, Cat's Eye and Cobra for example).
What do you mean legally watch. All wsj titles are for all ages aren't they

Wouldn’t it be interesting if WSJ brought back some 90s vibes with a new serialization in the magazine? I believe it would work out

Legally watch as in: not watching it on some pirating subbing aggregator site, but an official, licensed platform. Like Crunchyroll.
Oh my bad. That's a really good idea actually

All of those titles are currently on Crunchyroll

Edit: well I’m unsure on Cobra, but I know for a fact Cat’s Eye is on Crunchyroll because it’s in my queue. And I’m pretty sure Fist is definitely there too

I always see Shonen Jump’s twitter tweet about new Hell’s Paradise chapters being out and ready to read, but whenever I go on the app I never see even a section for Hell’s Paradise

it's a mature title so it isn't on the app. Same with Platinum End,

Interesting question, do you guys think a delinquent manga could work in Jump?
I think their time is over by now. However what got a huge comeback the past couple years were Gyarus, so maybe someday Jump gets an ecchin series about a Gyaru. Maybe a normal girl turning into a magical girl Gyaru or stuff like that.

I think any type of series other than shogi lol could work out in Weekly Shonen Jump if it is interesting enough. I saw it mentioned before, but I would enjoy seeing something similar to Rokudou no Onna-tachi. It pretty much checks all of the boxes - delinquents, harem elements, power of friendship, slight supernatural elements, etc. There are a lot of ways that they could tweak parts here and there to differentiate it from Rokudou. Heck, they could even have Fukuda write it since I'm sure he'd have a field day coming up with crazy plot twists, outlandish fights, and bringing in new harem members.

Both are on Manga Plus, though.
talk to Viz that's the reason they gave for originally charging separately for Platinum End instead of putting it in the magazine, and not allowing Jigokuraku to be viewed on the app.

Well...
The issues are indeed very similar. I wonder if this will cause some troubles in the future

He's paying homage brah. He's saying you may have destroyed my dreams and Ishiyama Ryo in that serialization round over five years ago, but this time you are mine. The savior of Jump.

I know its "homage" but damn, he is playing a risky game here of the public just not finding it different enough from MHA, I hope the plot takes an entirely different direction

If wsj's publishing it I'm sure they're completely fine with it. Sure it's odd to do a homage to a series that's still ongoing and not all that old, but Shuiesha approved it.

I'd let this one slide as a hommage, but if the story is similar too people are gonna be comparing. A lot.

Discount!Bakugo is not a great start either.

The Jump+ stage at Festa will have a life-sized statue of Anya. Girl is basically now the mascot for the platform.
