Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I thought Zipman was okay. I’m a little confused of the world since I thought it was a series that would be populated by mechas, but it looks like robitic superhero costumes?

To complete the post-mortem, Hinomaru Zumo was great to the end, it's a shame that it was obviously rushed towards the end with the fights being on average only half the length as usual despite their importance increasing, and the results of the matches leading up to the final ones becoming more predictable, but those are only minor points and the series didn't lose its touch. It kept ramping up all the way to the end. I hope Haikyuu can end with a bang like HZ as well.

M+ added Time for Torture, Princess in Spanish.

Also, fries with chocolate? Really? That sounds.. rather disgusting, honestly. (And that's coming from someone whose country is renowned for both their fries and their chocolate.)

Act-Age will also be added. Going by the same rule, We Never Learn should drop in Spanish too and SPY x FAMILY would change its current translator and edition team. Chainsaw Man should also be added in Spanish sometime in 2020 along with Jujutsu Kaisen and Jigokuraku changing their translation teams.

I have an easier time imagining that, actually. Fries with creamy stuff isn't so weird. But I can't see it working with something that has such a strong and opposite taste.

Cool. I never understood why they translated something like Heart Gear while ignoring half of the established WSJ series.

Licensor issues. Also, they wanted to push Heart Gear as much as possible, lol. Anyway since everything's getting slowly but steadily licensed in more countries, it's bound to happen that they'll be sooner or later added to the website. Also, Spanish Princess ID is 200036, leaving 200033, 200034 and 200035 free for new additions, which would most likely be Act-Age, We Never Learn and JoJo Part 2. CSM will come at a later date.

Or they could just post two chapters of each, like they did with Princess.

I wonder if they will do JoJo Part 2... They seem to have dropped Rosario + Vampire after the first season. (The English version started Season II the week after, but the Spanish version didn't.)

'Next title is being prepared. Please be patient'. They'll probably take some weeks before starting it. I actually didn't remember this one, so maybe one of those I mentioned earlier may not pop up for now or may not be prepared yet.

Also I'm meaning series IDs, not chapters IDs.

Why is reborn on the english version of M+???? Its kind of infuriating. Does it have something to do with viz cancelling the english version like way back in the 2000's?

When it initially came out, It felt like Taiju and Senku were both MCs and Taiju was given a tad more importance. They sidelined Taiju as the story went on and it made it much better.
Was a slight bait and bit of satire since taiju archetype is typical known in shonen.

I think it's 100% because Viz dropped it. Unless they're going to just stop it where Viz did or pay for a new translation that's probably not worth it they can't host it in English.

Atsushi Nakamura's tweet on Agravity Boys, with a non-garbage preview image. Have to say, this already seems to have far less pre-release interest than Zipman.

That's just how batches be. You're generally going to get the most pre-release discussion about the first title in a batch, because everyone's excited about a new batch starting. When the second title is on its way, you get to discuss the first title that just released. I'm sure that even if there's a third series in this batch, we'll be talking more about Agravity Boys than that series after Sunday.

Especially since Zipman debuted literally yesterday. I'm sure there'll be more Agravity Boys talk later in the week.

Hn, interesting you note that, because, looking through all the series which debuted in the 2010s (still feels weird that we now have to refer to it in the past tense), then, sure enough, the actual successes are quite frequently at the start of their batches:

  • Nisekoi debuted in Issue 48 2011, followed by a now forgotten gag manga.
  • Haikyu debuted as first new series of 2012, followed by Pajama no Kanojo.
  • Assassination Classroom lead first in the mid 2012 batch, followed by infamous bomb Takamagahara.
  • Hinomaru Zumo was isolated in a rare one-man batch.
  • My Hero Academia was the first in the four man batch done to help look for a new battle manga in the wake of Naruto ending.
  • Yuuna was the first new series of 2016.
  • The Promised Neverland was the first in the three-man batch of it, Love Rush and Red Sprite, only seperated by the Obon issue.
  • We Never Learn was the first series in the much hyped six series batch.
  • Jujutsu Kaisen was the first of a batch Jump put a large amount of promotion into.
  • Chainsaw Man was the first new series of 2019.
All in all, of the 17 hits of this decade, 10 were the start of a batch, while just 7 weren't. Obviously, this isn't conclusive of anything, but it's worth considering in terms of things like the recency effect and what not.

Art OKADA (the colorist) did for Zipman.
I didn't expect her hair to be blue. What the heck. I was picturing ginger in my head

And sweet lord is the art nice. I have high high for this manga
Wow, those hair colours are really different from the colour pages in the first chapter. There, the MC had brown hair and the girl's was a very pronounced blue. Here, they both look like albinos under a blue spotlight.

I had to go back and read it. I didn't even notice that she was in the colour page. lol

This week, my votes went to:
Dr Stone 131 for the awesome development
CSM 49 for Denji's incredible IQ
Yozakura Family 15 for Ayaka's expressions.
Honorable mentions to KNY and Haikyuu which also both had great chapters

I liked Zipman ch1 though in my opinion the most interesting part was the thing with the suit really. The part before that felt pretty meh.
