Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Really like Mashle's CP. The coloring and art is great even if the CP itself is very normal and not trying anything extraordinary in layout or poses. Think it fits well with the series so far.
I'm assuming the text around the CP is thanking readers for the popularity?

Mitama's not in the bottom 5, so I'll take it! If Guardian of the Witch stays in that bottom slot for another 2 or so consecutive issues, I think it's going to get U19'd. Honestly, I want to see what every other newbie has in store for at least 1 more serialization round's worth of chapters besides for it. Plus, that'll give us enough time to get a general feel for how this upcoming round's initial reception will be.

Someone just posted it on the WSJ server, but seems Shibata at least managed to close ZIPMAN!! in a successful way, by making it the prequel to ZIPPO!!.

While I could actually read the ZIPPO one shot since it was never translated, I liked the idea of the ZIPPO one shot more than what Zipman turned out to be. Was a bit disappointed to see it go in Zipman’s direction instead

Seemed like an interesting world from these two pics. The mangaka probably should've tried going another direction instead of where it went.

God damn....muh...
but Yuuna gets no attention despite being 50 chapters longer, frequenting the bottom, having two different previous arcs that could've worked as finales, and still doing one-off chapters with no clear idea of how or when it's actually planning to finish.
Because she's a ghoooost.
I just wanted to point out that Yuuna "frequents" the bottom of the ToC because it's a manga full of nudity, sexual innuendo, female characters sitting bare ass on the face of the MC, etc. It's to hide said material from the prying eyes of children, or whatever Shueisha wants to tell themselves. It's nothing to do with your misconception that always at the bottom means a series is doing poorly or on its way to cancellation. If anything, the only thing running against Yuuna is the fact that its sales have gone down over time, like quite a few series that last 4+ years.
Too lazy to check right now, but it seems like this would be the case for similar ecchi flavored series like Video Girl, To Love Ru, and even Bastard!! Though I think that Jump is a bit inconistent on that idea, as they did allow for a couple of LCP's for Yuuna that show plenty of skin.

So the Shueisha manga will all debut the second week of May right?
Technically, third week.

Whatever happened to Yozakura 2?
Sorry, typoed that one.

While I would love a more detailed CP, this one is pretty much the essence of Mashle lol. I really like the colors, I feel like Koumoto can deliver beautiful CPs in the future. Also, I'd like to point out that usually you'd see CPs with either "大好評" (great reviews) or "大人気" (great popularity) in the text but Mashle has both of them lol. Also they used "まさか" which is an expression for disbelief, so this one seems to be on a good track for now at least. If getting a color page earlier than any other newbie this past year aside from S8 wasn't enough.

Shoseki Daily Ranking - 4/8

#2 One Piece 96
#25 Black Clover 24
#26 Dr. Stone 15
#36 We Never Learn 16
#48 Yuuna and the Haunted Hotsprings 21
#109 Undead Unluck 1
#199 Agravity Boys 1
#214 Mission: Yozakura Family 2
Could be better could be worse but if you count out the Backlog sales of KNY then UU is still in the Top100 so that's good. The drop of Yozakura is pretty big though considering where it was yesterday placed.

...Okay, a little off topic, but Slime is huge. It made more money than everything bar One Piece and Kimetsu. No fucking wonder they're going all in with the anime's second season and spinoffs. This bodes well for a full adaptation.

Back to Jump:
About 45.5% of HeroAca's sales were backlogs, divided between 25 volumes.
About 51.5% of Neverland's sales were backlogs, divided between 17 volumes.
About 50.26% of Haikyuu!!'s sales were backlogs, divided between 41 volumes.

Considering these three series more or less pull similar numbers and are one of the biggest series currently running, Neverland's boost is remarkable. It's a shame that Kimetsu completely overshadowed it. But lest we not forget about one other impressive manga...

SPY x FAMILY. When the fuck is Volume 4 coming out, cause I need to see this fucking growth. Over 200k in just three volumes entirely from backlogs is nothing short of absolutely amazing. Endo really found major success after so long.
In other words backlogs mean a lot of money.
I would say that Endo didn't found a major but an insane success after so long. SxF is really going cray-cray ever since its first chapter came online. I remember how people were trying to guess it gonna sell like 50k to 80k when Volume 1 was about to release and then the Volumes goes and is like, I think, past 700k now and still gets ranked.

Speaking of Undead Unluck, do you guys think it'll end up as popular as Chainsaw Man?
Mmmmmaye, but not as explosive as CSM. I think its build-up in sales and popularity will be slower than it was with CSM but it got a good premise to get popular with the same clientele as CSm did.

Isn't this good time to catch up with your backlog?
Finally touch Undead Unluck. It's not as bad, nor as good as people claim here. Tho, it has a huge tonal issue with early chapters. Fight and power is kind of messy, but passable. SCP-esque stuff is neat, with chapter 9 really the best.
Hope the author makes the main girl less boring tho.
In other words, better than what most other JUMP newbies have presented in the shonen battle genre recently.

This never ends, doesn't it? Another month of boring Oricon.

I think it will eventually reach either DS pre-anime or current Act-Age, maybe in between.

Power , fight in UU are good tho, is not like a power system like Jujutsu or WT , but is better than chainsawman
I would prefer outright bullshit brawl without clear rule over fight with convenient constrain.

In other words, better than what most other JUMP newbies have presented in the shonen battle genre recently.
Sure, gonna give you that.

Not sure how it gonna be in the future, but I think it gonna be the leader of 30k for now.

SPEAKING OF THAT.....

I guess this is Jump's new direction. I guess Agravity did have some influence after all...
Got the picture back, but this post is useless at this point.

Well, atleast it went from "reprinted every 2 weeks" to "reprinted after a month".
inb4 there is already another one for may before this one that I missed

Also I just noticed volume 20 isn't among those so I wonder if they'll just give it a 2.5mln first print instead of 2mln.

Wait nevermind, I actually just realised the reprints probably slowed down because of the corona emergency.
Welp.
