Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Mori King was actually heartwarming and has more of a “family” vibe than Yozakura did imo. Really does give me Beelzebub vibes. Also, got a few chuckles from the Lion King parody lmao.

Undead keeps being my favorite new series since Chainsaw man. With reprints for the first Volume on the way, we better be getting that promotional color page soon Nak.

At the moment JJK is the only Manga series really making me thirst for a new chapter. Act Age has become a bit complacent now. CSM is cool but i liked it more when there was more structure to the story mixed with the typical craziness. KnY has me back at least. OP and UU were cool too.

One thing I've constantly thinking reading the entire Jump this week:

Has Jujutsu Kaisen the best choreography of the entire Shonen Jump roster? I'd say only Haikyuu and sometimes My Hero Academia get close enough

Personally, I think so. Akutami can get really creative with the panelling, not to mention their knack for depicting movement is astounding. This week's was a great example of that, but also there are other fights during the Shibuya Incident that have shown great choreography. Furudate and Horikoshi's choreopraphy are to be commended as well, both have great sense of panelling and angles, but Akutami is still on the forefront.

I feel a bit mixed about it. It's great if you're paying close attention, but sometimes I feel like I need to study each panel a couple times to make sense of it. If you have to read a page multiple times to figure out what's going on, I don't know if I can really call that good. Interesting and creative, sure, but good? I don't know.

Though maybe it's just the sometimes confusing story structure and the way it follows the characters that makes the battles seem confusing, when really it's the non-battle parts that are the issue.

Akutami has a lot of skill, but for me, their paneling can be pretty hit or miss. At it's best, it's super dynamic and energetic, but there are a lot of times where it's a little too experimental and hard/messy to read.

Besides Haikyu!!, I would say that Chainsaw Man has the best choreography in Jump. Fujimoto has always had a knack for creating large scale action scenes that are super easy to follow and knows how to smoothly blend experimental layouts with traditional panels (for example, pretty much every time a devil interacts with the characters from outside a panel).

This week has solidified the fact that I have no clue wtf is going on in Chainsaw Man anymore. I preferred when the series blended this huge amount of batshit insane stuff with actual character moments, hopefully it can get back to that soon.

My thought on Issue 20 since I still can’t vote

Great: Haikyuu, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man

Good: Dr. Stone, Promised Neverland, My Hero, Act-Age, Undead Unluck

Average: OP, Mashle, Mitama Security, Yozakura Family, Guardian of the Witch

Meh: Moriking, KnY, Agravity Boys

Yikes: Black Clover, We Never Learn

Have to agree for We Never Learn sadly, this current Route isn't interesting at all.

With Neverland most likely ending soon, would you guys like to see Posuka and Shirai come back? Paired with each other, or with a different writer/artist that you think would match with better? And for what kind of series if they do comeback.

I want their comeback

Mystery or battle manga with dark climat but they could try their strength with completely different genre like sport.

I want Posuka to be back with a story in which she can use her skill in drawing surreal and abstract imagery and compositions. That was always the high-point of Neverland visually for me, and I want something that lets her go really all-out with this stuff. Shirai can be the writer for that, I don't mind.

I personally want to see Posuka paired with a writer who does a more “Adventure!” Adventure series. I don’t think Neverland really took advantage of Posuka’s character design when it comes to creatures and environment.

I would like to see Shirai paired with someone like Obata. Someone with a very realistic and detailed art style.

I wouldn’t mind them coming back as a pair, but if they do I’m hoping the story is something that allows Posuka to go HAM with her environments and creatures

Honestly, I thought a lot of these chapters weren't as strong as the past few weeks. This week's top 5:

1. Undead Unluck - Solid chapter. Really showcases why our main duo are both really good people at heart.
2. Mitama Security - Zobiro part had me in stitches, as did Mr. Commentary's and Yuko's.
3. Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san - Chapter was really well done. What if route done right.
4. Act-Age - Decent chapter for starting up a new standard rule of acting Yonagi must soon discover.
5. We Never Learn - I'm giving this the 5th spot because it was a great Sawako chapter, but Rizu could be any more irrelevant in her own what if arc.

The best of the rest:
6. Mission: Yozakura Family - Pretty good chapter, and the focus on Nanao was a nice change of pace. He seems like a really nice kid, although some parts of the chapter were a bit confusing.
7. Moriking - Decent first chapter. It's next few chapters will largely determine my enjoyment of the series. The girl was funny and the bug was ok for me.
8. Mashle - Ok chapter. Still feel like this villain feels like they completely came out of nowhere though.
9. Agravity Boys - Chapter was fairly boring. The joke Geralt, Baba and the other leader were doing wasn't funny either.
10. Chainsaw Man - Still no clue what's happening.

I found Moriking to be neither funny nor heartwarming to be honest. Guess it's just not my cup of tea.

Posuka's art reminds me of made in abyss in a way of it's loli-like characters. Also I'd enjoy a sports manga with their art.

Tsutsui is smart. He got the most normal routes out of the way. He’s saving the most anticipated routes for the middle and last part of the final arc. Foom is next then Asumin is the appetizer before we conclude the series with Sensei. Imagine the rankings and sales for the last volume.

Moriking was...all right, I guess? i never quite know how to evaluate a gag manga from chapter one, especially when it's clearly directed to kids.

Honestly, if Sensei's chapters are the ones which contain the "main" ending content, I'm just going to shake my head on why Tsutsui thought any of this was a good idea.

Clearly all of these endings are just setup for the true ending, Sekijo x Ogata, seeing Yuiga get with all the girls is just an appetizer.
