U19 is my favorite flop of all time. The battles felt like they had potential, with the abilities slightly more creative than BNHA or Black Clover, say. It seemed to be going the direction of JoJo and Undead in terms of battles. Furthermore, the cast was very natural-feeling and organic, and the overall conflicts gave you an underground vibe, almost like Persona. The kids vs adults theme had a lot of potential and the underdog role(s) was already set up so well in a lot of ways, which is super important for a large proportion of shonen.
If anyone knows "why it flopped" I'd actually love to know. I'm so sad that the author deleted all his accounts and stuff. I would take U19 over all the new series from 2020 besides Mitama, aka axe them all for U19.
U19 flopped because its writing was incredibly cringe-inducing with zero subtlety or nuance, its pacing was terrible (three chapters just to get past the beginning of the scenario), and very little action had actually happened in it as a "battle" manga to get readers invested.
Topic idea since there's no magazine this week, which newbie flop author from the past couple years has the most potential to have their next series be a hit?

- Last saiyuki: the problem was just the phasing. If it had a chance like they handled samurai 8, it would've maybe survive
- Hell warden higuma: which I'm still sad of, it had potential but the problem was lack on side characters. In an shonen especially you have to make character poll which many fans can relate to many other characters beside the 2 main casts. Maybe with the right assistant, he couldve improved his writing decently.
- ne0lation: is an wasted "hit", it's something that's perfect to have an series in this age of time. Espcially when it came out, it didnt really had "competition" besides TPN,,, not a big deal really, these 2 arent alike.
Maybe couldve been seen as the the new death note but modern what people can relate to easily and hacking!?,, I mean cmon kids and adults wouldve love that concept with its colorful style, the author sadly lack in writing and the side characters of the mc just really lack character.. also couple problem with the mc that couldve been handled much better if the author wrote his past way earlier.
- Double taisei: if it wasnt about a board game. Cuz that's such a curse in this magazine, it Maybe wouldve survived, we dont know.. not much to say.. it was just doomed already being a board game, the end.
- Tokyo shinobi squad: good boss villians were used as fodders which is stupid handled, unique power system but never balanced. In this age it has to be somewhat believable or has to compensate when being on a disadvantages to let a villian play some dirty/smart plays. Ehh if its was released in like 2003, it could see it popping. Not now in this way of writing, I hate sometimes saying it but it was cliche overall. Being in jump now, fans have way higher complex expectations now. Not gonna lie, the mc is dope tho and i like the art designs.
TLDR: Tokyo shinobi squad wouldve maybe survived in 2003 - 2007 but it's too cliche now
- ziga: LMAOOOOOO
- beast children: it was good in chapter 1.. after that the author have no knowledge how to handle an sport manga at all... he completely forgot what an sport manga makes it engaging are the characters but he missed So much.. so much chances to do that. Not only that but art is an important factor too, you dont have to be as good as boichi or something. But before doing an manga in jump, please have some knowledge about anatomy.
Kinda embarrassing from an assistant that did kuroko no basket have lack of knowledge in anatomy. I have so much to say about this manga which couldve saved him from this disaster, it wouldve maybe died anyway cuz of the curse but atleast saved him for terrible story telling. Overall he was just inexperienced, I give him props about the mc buffy senpai, hes atleast aware of the fujobait (too lazy to put the perfect panel fujo panel).
- zipman: lol just let him do the art next time, I ain't gonna repeat myself. It makes 7 deadly sins in comparison atleast "original"
Bozebeast: should've came in the kimetsu batch, it wouldve done better for sure. It's pretty original from your traditional battle shonen
Overall, I'm trying to get the energy to balance school, anime, manga, gaming, and drawing.
As of this moment? Thinking about this actually official piece of crossover media:
Honestly curious as to what the effects would be if such a thing came out anytime this year.

I do wonder why Neverland still keeps being high with it's reprints (80/100k per week right now, by Oricon/Shoseki). Not like there's anything pushing it to the public right now.
I plan on getting caught up with a couple of anime/manga series. From WSJ, I plan on getting caught up with AA, JJK, CSM, Haikyuu & completing Hoshin Engi.
I finally started binge watching HxH after putting it in my PTW list years ago, and I'm mad that I didn't watch this earlier despite everyone recommending it. Like wtf Gon is my favourite protagonist of all time and his bromance with Killua is just... ugh
I think this might turn out to by my favourite shonen ever wtf

When it's not watching anime or reading manga, I like drawing on my computer and color manga panels I love the most.
Before the quarantine, I had the intention to start watching Yu yu Hakusho and Shaman king (to revive some memories), so this is the great chance to start.
With manga I'll just look new things to read, I don't have any backlog so it will be nice.
a) browsing the internet to waste time till I want to do something or next jump/anime stuff comes out
b) Working on my comic
c) playing league of legos or valorant
d) going outside

which author would benefit from experience and better ideas? pretty much all of them
from your list I liked Saiyuki and Japan, but I don't know what experience could change in the author and if it should change anything
maybe a faster pacing for Saiyuki author and a more mainstream theme for Japan author?
I only like the Kaiju theme in Ziga, so I don't know if I'll like other story settings by the author, I would hope experience makes them write something more fun and less reliant on gore and shock factor
I only liked TSS because it followed the Kekkai Sensen model of storytelling, don't know if the author should change anything about him if that is his strong point
maybe add an overarching plot that moves along the smaller adventures
Like everybody said, catching up and binge reading/watching manga and anime, helping at home, listening to music, exercising, taking some classes on line
Nice yall, (not much difference for me since I'm mostly at home , I also often dk exercise but with this quarantine, I have way more time.) Keep safe yall,
This has been eternally etched in my mind since I first saw this.....my mind has never been the same since then. Gotouge.....WHY? WHY MUST YOU DO THIS?
