Moderator Notice: Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.
These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

OP 1 probably have way more sales than that? I mean, One Piece have 473 000 000 sales in 96 volumes that mean his best volume should have way more than 4m sales.

it's probably unreported though. I imagine One Piece volume 1 (and select other volumes important things happened) have quite a bit higher but they're never high enough to appear on weekly charts even if they're still selling volumes each week. If we took those into account the question would be impossible to answer.

According to Shueisha, it's become the second-fastest and successful hit after Assassination Classroom
And SxF Vol.4 is not even out yet because it will be released on May 13. I wonder how many AssassClass have sold before Vol.4 was even released. Did it also reach 3m copies before Vol.4?
Well for One Piece it never had a stock problem and probably sold most of its copies in a month like most manga but both KNY18 and 19 went out of stock several times which is why is still selling 50k-100k+ every week.

Volumes 1~4: 3.6 million copies in print
Assassination Classroom Vol. 3 also had a first print of 900k copies, Spy x Family Vol. 3 had a first print of 400k copies

Geez, when I think about how long it took for Endo to reach this success.... The only thing I regret is that he isn't in the main magazine. Now, I already know the arguments for Endo staying in Jump+, and truthfully, I agree with all of those. I'm just saying that if Endo was in the magazine, that would be a hell of a story to tell.
Rookie: Geez, that's two flops in a row....you really think I'm cut out for this?
Editor: Imma slap you real good now *slap!* You see those two down the hall? *points* That's Horikoshi. One of our biggest success in the last decade. He had two flops before he hit it big. And see the other guy down there? That's Endo. He jumped from publisher to publisher and was stuck in assistant jobs for 20 years before he made SxF. So if you wanna complain, do it after you submit your third attempt.

I don't know if this is really due to demand, or just Nakano being a cheapskate.
There's been an update to our forum rules to broaden crediting/sourcing to all series news/announcement, etc. Please read HERE
