Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Yeah, but nobody was expecting it to flop that badly either. I remember we had a poll about the porspective sales before the first volumes came out. If that's archived somewhere it would be a sight to see.
I imagine several, including myself did. It just would have triggered lots of pages of how

"It's Kishimoto we're talking about!"

"You don't understand! It's Kishimoto author of the third most sold manga!"

"If Togashi can have two hits, Kishimoto can too!"
Etc.

A lot of people came into forums only during Samurai 8's run, even here there are some inactive users who were very active during it's run. And plenty users in this forum would state a tangible amount of misinformation.
Lot's of people, even here still think success and current popularity = current and future profitability, when it is simply not true.
A manga done by a returning author has to be profitable and successful in it's own right in Jump, it can't ride the wave of the previous success.

I can see potential in Guardian’s and Bone Collection’s authors if their series don’t survive, then I would like to see them come back with something more refined and polished. I also would be excited for Kishi to come back and do a Seinen series.

The only series I wouldn’t mind leaving the mag to make room is Yozakura.

Believe it or not, I still see people saying that Samurai 8 "didn't deserve it" or was treated unfairly in spite of the fact that it was heavily panned in Japan and massively underpreformed. The idea that in the end Kishimoto failed to make a manga people liked doesn't seem to be something they can accept.

Also, Oricon just posted this article. It's about that in some places are being already sold out and there a lots of resales.

Amazing what Demon Slayer is doing. When you think that he has already done everything, another news comes and goes that leaves you speechless. As this continues, not only with this volume but with other two that remain, without a doubt Demon Slayerr reaches 100 million. Something I never thought could happen.

"He" isn't the correct word choice here, Blue. I know English isn't your first language, so that's why I wanted to inform you.

I'm done, they even had dedicated KnY 20 cashiers and that wasn't enough... and 鬼滅20巻 trending on twitter...

Any bets on first week sales? I'll go for 1.8 million given its high initial print + special edition. Could be higher though.

Oh yeah, KnY is gonna top that with its eyes closed. Either this volume or next.
I think it is going to be hard if this one doesn't top that since the upcoming three volumes will only have 3 days for their first week.
