Aniplex rumor was apparently fake. Pierrot still holds the rights because Klab renewed the license for Bleach Brave souls and signed a partnership deal with them.

Klab would have to go to Aniplex if the rumors were true.
You're being intentionally ignorant now which is unbecoming of you. Did you read the reports? They pretty much acknowledge only Naruto, Boruto and Black Clover out of the top 5 for having strong overseas presence AND being profitable. The fact that BC got an extension for three year straight (fourth if covid never happened) without the support of strong merch and video game sales to back it up makes it reasonable to assume the anime is doing a great job.
1. TV Tokyo acknowledges only Naruto, Boruto and Black Clover for their overseas presence so your guess is as good as mine but let's not forget the production committee for the anime has Pierrot as well. Their sales were 10.8 billion yen last year so god knows how much of it was because BC.
2. Overseas business includes licensing shows to not only streaming companies but to others responsible for making merchandise or games. I genuinely doubt BC was in the top 5 profitable anime for TV Tokyo because of merchandise or games.
3. No, they're for all their anime but the top 5 are the biggest earners. For overseas section only three of the top 5 were acknowledged.
4. It's pretty much given that Naruto and Boruto are responsible for a bigger chunk of the 15 billion sales (Not 13 billion. My bad)since they are higher in sales and gross profit rankings. That doesn't change the fact that Black Clover contributed to the growth of both the revenue and gross profit.
5. Again. The way Toei operates is different than your normal studios. World Trigger wasn't exactly having great ratings and the slot it aired in ended after the anime but now here we are with an upcoming sequel.
Okay. Decent points. I'll give you that TV TOKYO states BC is their 3rd most popular title outside Japan.
That said, positions in a list doesn't mean much when numbers could be a whole different story.
Want an example? Look at the difference in the top 3 selling manga right now from WSJ.
You take positions and you say KNY, OP and MHA are the top 3 selling manga in WSJ. It gives you one picture. But then you take the actual numbers and that's a whole different ball game. The gap between each is not something you'd imagine if you didn't have the numbers.
That said, I have no proof that it isn't doing incredibly well oversees. But we all can agree that its not remotely close to Bleach's popularity either in Japan or oversees.
Keep in mind, Bleach has been on these lists as well even a year or two after its anime ended but it's anime still remained cancelled. Why would TV Tokyo not capitalize on Bleach's big popularity oversees for so long?
There are too many unknown variables for anyone to truly estimate BC's worth in TV Tokyo's list. Pretty much the same with digital sales argument in manga.
From previous experience and from the example of Bleach, the likelihood that BC is in a protective bubble because of the anime is very tiny.
Keep in mind, WSJ cares about it's magazine. If a franchise is dying, the only positive action they can take is shift the manga to a different magazine to keep that manga going whilst earning money for Shueisha. They won't keep it in WSJ forever. Far more important franchises to WSJ have been cancelled.
Finally;
Your point about World Trigger. Lets put it this way, World Trigger went on an indefinite hiatus and came back stronger, growing in sales. Meaning, the franchise was not only far from dead but actually growing.
BC is not growing. It's sales are declining. It's TOC placements are unstable and it's average in the TOC has been noticeably worse. These are all the signs of a declining franchise. Harsh (sorry) but true.
Also, World Trigger's first anime was low budget unlike BC which definitely has a higher budget.
In any case, my point has always been this - IF BC's manga volumes keep declining in sales, WSJ will take action within the next 1.5-2 years. Still a long time for BC to get a 2nd boost and grow again.
