As for my feelings towards Ayakashi Triangle, the art was great, but everything else about it seemed extremely standard, aside from the twist at the end.

I'm not sure the series can survive on that twist alone, especially if it's a permanent thing.

Honestly I kind of prefer Bone Collection's first chapter to Ayakashi Triangle, neither have great action but it was funnier and less info-dump heavy. Ayakashi's art is better but that's about all.

This chapter felt more like a prologue than the actual beginning though, so I guess we'll see what kind of series it truly is next week.

Look, Ayakashi triangle still belongs to an author who has 2 successes in the jump.
Even if they say that Yabuki only draws To love ru, he still accounts for half the success of the work, and the designer has much more work than the screenwriter.
I believe there will be at least 5 volumes.

I gotta say, Undead Unluck has the best worldbuilding of any series I've read since Toriko.

This week's chapter may just be my favorite so far. Really good week in general.
I love Undead unluck I hope it survives long enough to get a anime the manga remind me of kekkai sensen

Ayakashi was.... fine. Nothing stood out or was specially bad, but it was more well made than something like BoneCo, imo.

I found Time Paradox pretty boring this week. All the previous discussion about the morality of the MC, but the point for me is that... I don't find this conflict engaging because he was presented in such a annoying manner. And there isn't much else for me to hang on to in the series so far, this chapter was a pretty basic setup that would've worked if I liked the protagonist. As it was, it was mostly boring.

AT was solid for an opening chapter. I like how the cat just cursed the kid because he was irritated in the pair doing potentially lewd things after beating him.

I’m gradually enjoying Bone Collection more as the series goes on. The comedy is pretty funny. I’m convinced the author’s style is more suited for a romcom instead of battle.

But THAT Undead chapter though

Guys, use spoiler tags when discussing AT's plot, please. That goes for all new series.

I don't think anyone is suggesting it's axe bait, so this post seems extremely premature.
So, what a good wue I was the first to comment.

Ayakashi Triangle had an alright first chapter, not great but definitely not bad or terrible, it sure was a fun read nonetheless. I liked it and the characters better than Bone Collection’s at least. And Yabuki’s art is such a sight.

Wonder how Yabuki will handle the series, if it will go with the villain of the week format that end up being connected somehow or more arc based.

Yozakura was fine, the romantic stuff was cute, albeit almost a little annoying. Wish they didn't bring back the guy from last chapter though

Mitama was great, but the axe is all but confirmed at this point.

Agravity was good, got some laughs

Undead was incredible, it really impresses me every week. Great set up, action, and lore. I love how it's building it's world up

Mashle was good, pretty standard action chapter

Guardian was meh, kinda felt like it was trying to cram an entire arc into this chapter, which is a shame because an arc like this with a girl becoming a witch could've worked well earlier in the series. No idea how it's supposed to end next chapter in a satisfying way

Moriking was great, funny and some nice worldbuilding

Bone was fine, really just an action chapter

Ghost Writer was alright, not really sure how I feel about the series anymore.

Ayakashi was good, pretty normal first chapter, have to see where it goes from here. Nothing really standout aside from the twist at the end, but it doesn't really fail at anything either.

Dr Stone, HQ, CSM, and JJK were all great this week. After seeing some spoiler pics, I thought the TPN ending was going to be a lot worse, but to my surprise, at least as far as the final chapter was concerned, it wasn't that bad. Probably could've used a few more chapters in the human world, but I'm just glad that it's over. Final arc was such a total mess that it's hard for me to really feel anything from this ending. It's going to be interesting reading more unestablished series than established series now.

This week's top 5:
1. Mitama Security - Rena Haze's ending intuition may be right on the money lol. However, this tryuly does feel like end times.....
2. Ayakashi Triangle - Very impressed with the artwork and character designs, along with an interesting ending to the first chapter. Probably my favorite first chapter for a new series in quite a while. Can't wait to see next week's chapter.
3. Mission: Yozakura Family - Very funny chapter this week, and Mutsumi is super cute. Hopefully we get more chapters like this.
4. Moriking - Glad to see we'll be getting more bug-people than just the kings. Shoko's reactions really carry the series for me. I'm curious to see if it'll keep getting such high ranks in the TOC for the next few chapters.
5. Chainsaw Man - Aki is such a bro. Really deep chapter for a number of reasons, and the further you delve, the more depressing the inevitable outcomes appear to be.

The best of the rest:
6. Act-Age - Super funny watching Yonagi's training methods for her tryout.
7. Undead Unluck - Interesting worldbuilding chapter, although some of it felt a bit random in the middle.
8. Mashle - Seventh dude was pretty annoying, but seeing the sixth's guys ability was pretty unexpected. Chapter felt like it went by pretty quickly.
9. We Never Learn - An alright chapter, but nothing really stood out as good either besides seeing more of the cast together at the same time for more than a panel.
10. Time Paradox Ghostwriter - This series would be much better if it was about the group of assistants working for a pain-in-the-neck mangaka who's basically never shown. The MC is really killing my enjoyment of the series.
11. Agravity Boys - Adding the second space crew was a mistake. More characters that add no diversity to the cast's personalities.
12. Bone Collection - This art is just painful to look at sometimes. Seeing the yokai here vs in Ayakashi Triangle makes it seem even worse by comparison.

So it seems like this WNL route is going the way we all expect. And yet it’s by far the best route for me currently. This does finally confirm to me that each of these routes take place at different points in time in the chapter where paths diverge. It makes the first route more canon, in my eyes.

Gonna be a long ass wait for HeroAca. Damn, man.

Decided to hold off on Ayakashi Triangle for now, since I’m probably gonna reread all the 2020 newbies (plus Yozakura and Miitama) soon, so I’ll do a ranking comparing first chapters only and the first 8 chapters. I did expect Ayakashi Triangle to garner mixed to positive reactions, and it does seem like the next few chapters will really show what this manga wants to become. It’s always hurts me a bit when you get excited about a manga and you find people underwhelmed by it, though.

Then again, I need to re-evaluate my opinion on Time Paradox Ghostwriter.

Wonder what people thought about Neverland’s ending, and the series overall?

Great issue of Jump all around, the Neverland finale brought a smile to my face, the road was bumpy, but this ending was worth it for me. Yozakura and Mitama were both great this week, but Mitama really feels like this is it, going out with a bang though. If Guardian ending next issue is true, what a unconclusive ending that is going to be, feel bad for Sakano. Ghostwriter was pretty good this week, better than the rest of it's batch. Ayakashi Triangle was pretty good, great art, characters and premise are all interesting, but it also felt like not all that much happened. Very curious to see what chapter 2 is like, hopefully it gives us a better idea of where it's going long term, but I'm pretty close to sold.

TPN- I know a lot of you are going to despise this ending but for me personally this ending was amazing. The ending could have been much worse. All in all I loved this series and while it did have a few dips in quality I still feel the amazing parts of the series outweighs the bad (even the final arc had some awesome moments). On top of that the first 3 arcs are some of my favorite arcs in shonen. The ending was satisfying and heartwarming and didn’t destroy the series for me.

AT- the 1st chapter was just ok. Wasn’t bad but nothing to special. This series does have a lot of potential to be a good action comedy manga but when talking about the first chapter it was just standard to me.

CSM- With all the slice of life and heartwarming moments of the past 2 chapters and the reveal at the end of this chapter this will be CSM’s darkest arc up to now for sure. I don’t think I’m ready for this.

BNHA- This arc is getting extremely intense and insane. There is no way a major character won’t die this arc.

JJK- This is such an epic fight. Gege sensei is a master at paneling and art in fights to make you feel the impact of each attack.

UU- This is some one piece level world building right there. This was almost my favorite chapter until I read CSM. Once this series get popular enough it definitely deserves a spin off.

AA- I love how connected the characters are to one another and how each of them are not just one note characters and have a lot of mystery and complexity to them. Looking forward tosee what happens next.

Mashle- While the comedy is amazing this action is also great. I’ve notice a big improvement in the art. Also the paneling is good to. Hope once this gets an anime bones or madhouse adapts this.

My trio had good chapters. Twists in Chainsaw, Rape in JJK, Stalking in AA, it had it all

Decent Mashle. I guess it's really a battle series now.

Moriking had a cute chapter. Nothing too special but it was enjoyable.

Solid Agravity too. Although that arc resolved quite fast.

Mitama is getting ready for the axe ain't it......i'm not ready bros.....

Bone Collection I actually enjoyed, in a "stupid" fun kind of way. Maybe it'll be a guilty pleasure of mine or something.

I sense some improvment in GOTW, but it's probably too late now.

Unremarkable chapter of Ghostwriter, but not bad. Itsuki is cute.

UxU was really good holy shit.

Thus ends TPN.....these two chapters were actually kind of good compared to the rest of this arc...this series I have very mixed views upon now in retrospect. Oh well...at least it ended somewhat nicely......

Ayakishi was competent I suppose. But in reading the chapter I felt an overwheling sense of bitter melancholy that persisted though all of it's 55 pages I went through. Since I don't want to feel like that every week from now on I'm going to drop a manga for the first time ever.

Chainsaw Man was fantastic. A lot of really interesting implications raised in this chapter. Feel really sorry for Aki.

I had fun with Yabuki's new work, although I hope it can remain fun without relying too heavily on the gimmick of the twist. Still not feeling Ghostwriter.

Ayakashi had some pretty great panelling and art overall but that's about. I'm not sure about that twist, I have to wait more chapters to see where this goes but art aside the rest was basic. Agravity was pretty weak this week, there were barely any jokes, if any. I don't know why Guardian of the Witch started another point when it is going to end real quick but I guess Sakano just wanted to do what he felt like. Undead had a really creative character, Tozuka has applied his ideas pretty well, but also I feel like things go by way too fast and if the series does manage to survive, it won't have a long run.

Mitama is definitely on its way to end, sad to see it go already but it was fun while it lasted. Despite my qualms with Yozakura, I have to say Mutsumi and Taiyou have more chemistry than many couples I've seen in ficiton lol. The Promised Neverland had a 50/50 ending for me, it was emotional but the overall direction was eh. Still going to remember it for all the good things it gave us early on. That Chainsaw Man chapter gave me CHILLS, it's setting up for something pretty grandiose, not to mention the emotional stakes it's setting. The heartbreak will be asbolutely unavoidable (if you know what I mean). I know I've repeated myself over and over, but My Hero Academia is pulling no breaks and it's a highlight every week.
