I dont think TGPW is ending soon, got those vibes from BC instead though. TGPW pacing is calculated and meticulous.

Today we lost arguably the best sports manga ever created. Latom 🙏🏾
Probably the one with the best anime, but I would argue both Slam Dunk and Eyeshield 21 are better as manga.

Among the ones I read I would say Act-age was the best. Dr Stone had a very important chapter too even through it was quite slow.

...Did you just start reading haikyuu this chapter or something? How do you get the sport wrong after 400 chapters, lol.
LOL, no idea how I made that mistake after such a long time reading Haikyu! Guess Handball just came naturally to me when thinking about Volleyball but then Basketball should also only be "Handball". I didn't even noticed my mistake. I just gonna let that stay because that is so funny to me. XD

TGPW is getting axed. Also the author has pretty weird beliefs. A Manga with no personality is what it takes for it to be the most entertaining thing in the world? What kind of logic is that? Is he trying to take shots at some of the current popular titles?
Yeah, feels like a new U19 member. As for the no personality part, maybe the belief that everyone would be able to find a piece of himself in that story thus enjoying the story more? Like you know how it is right? Sometimes people seem to love a series, you give it a try and all you think is "huh, okay then", it just is not clicking with you. Maybe that is what Aino meant, having perfect pure entertainment that everyone can enjoy and personality in her opinion seems to taint that entertainment thus not everyone can "get" the joy outta it.
But yeah, it sounds pretty stupid.

By the way, what is the longest Nr.1 position streak any series had in Jump so far? I bet it is in the single digits or something like that.

It’s a Yuumi chapter, too! She’s my favorite. Also, I hope the translations come more often, raws are at Chapter 69.
Yuumi's my fave too.

Loved the final chapter of Haikyuu, an emotional ending full of meaning. Really liked One Piece chapter too.

Still have to read the rest

MHA, One Piece, and JJK were so hype this week.

Moriking was surprisingly touching as well.

Ah, I remember at what the new HDC chapter reminded me off: Super Dog Rilienthal! That't it! Just instead of a little dog it is a little girl.
Also noticed how nobody here complained about a Police Officer firing his gun several times and then use it to smash the head of someone in? Seems like WSJ is truly not worried at all about any negative feedback from US readers if they keep going like this.

I interpreted that segment different. i think the author is trying to say, too much personality can be a bad thing (In some sense, it makes sense since it becomes very attuned to the authors likes and dislikes to the point that only the author can appreciate it or only a very niche audience can). In the real world editors fix this to some extent but i guess young aino didn’t know that. And she took the idea to it’s extreme,

she ends up making something which is “transparent” accord to her going to the other exteeme losing her personal motivation and “soul” of the manga maybe. If not for the super fast pace this manga is going, I would think the author is setting up for our hero to beat her with soul or something (which he too seems to lack currently according to his editor). But who knows what the author is thinking!

That could still seem likely, to me it would justify why we had timeskips to get to this point, and that were just in a prologue of sorts for the first 10 or so chapters and the tru story starts now.

Ya. Even i feel the same. It is possible
we are seeing some sort of a loop for the hero to grow in both skill and character (the soul aspect) and then the real story is the rivalry between the two while introducing more manga-rivals.

Dr. Stone has been hitting it out of the ballpark

I used to skim the manga and read just chrome and senku panels, but as of my 2nd favorite character getting his servant last arc and the road to the climax to now, its been one of the best series in the magazine.

This was an overall solid week, Act Age having a very wholesome chapter here, Moriking as well. Chainsaw Man on the other hand contrasts a lot with them lmao Mashle having a solid battle chapter, the CP made me lol a lot

Yozakura also had a nice plot heavy chapter, plus they are finally using one of the least used siblings , Time Paradox with a lot of backstory tho I still feel the author has rushed through a lot of content as of late

UU has really grown on me a lot, this is the biggest case for me about this, Cop and Dolphin coming up with a goal in hindsight being set up, I like that

Itsuki thinks like this, not exactly the author. She's the one narrating this chapter.

I'm not surprised that WSJ does not care that US readers are angry. I mean, the worst could happen for them is that US readers don't buy the manga, but this manga doesn't need US readers to survive (it needs Japanese readers that buy most amount of manga).

It is also unlikely US readers will stop to buy the manga they always buy just because they are angry with the magazine (not that US readers are the majority of the audience for these manga either). And US readers don't even buy the WSJ magazine.

I think everyone who follows Tamura's manga is already used to this kind of wrong approach, and problematic characters in nosense situations.
HBC is not that different from beelzebub, and maybe hungry marie (I didn't follow this one).

Thought of taking a look at the current rankings for the volumes released in August in Amazon and I found them quite curious. Of couse, these fluctuate a lot and are not definitive, but they're intriguing nonetheless.

I don't think there's much point in looking at pre-orders until a week or so before, when the numbers are at 30 000 and 40 000, I can't imagine there's all that many pre-orders in general.
